I'm reading it right now... and staring in amazement as I ponder the inevitable romantic fluff to come between Nigel and Rachel. It looks like Abby and Hoagie have gotten the same idea about this budding (no pun intended) romantic friendship, and I can only wonder what the future holds for Nigel and Rachel... as fairies.

(laughing with surprised delight) It's Pikachu/Buneary, actually, lead Courting Commander, and no need to worry. Perhaps drawing Nigel as Ash and Rachel as Dawn will be even better, in order to continue getting my mind going.

Ah, thanks for the correction. *glomp* ^^Note-to-self; Draw Nichel as Pearl. :3 Good thing I don't have any plans today... expect now days I don't have anything to plan since I'm out of school. Though I plan to work at the library if they need me. ^^

No need to worry. This Courting Commander/Starlight Soldier will be happy to acknowledge your dedication to Nigel and Rachel's romantic friendship, and these two leading kids might be happy to, say, exercise together. I wonder where they go to do that.

I now realized... it's so darn hard to draw Rachel in Dawn's outfit. It must be the hat. I don't draw Rachel wearing hats/helmets often, and I'm used to her not wearing one anymore... especially when the plot of GKND formed into my mind. ^^; But to make it up to you and the Pearlshippers at SerbiiForums... I think I'll start that D&P/1&362 oneshot of Rachel losing in a Pokemon contest, and Nigel battling Rachel for her confidence to build up with Ash, Dawn and Brock at the sidelines. Ya know, your idea that you had last year. n_n But now we must think of Rachel and Nigel's pokemon. o.o I think I can imagine Rachel with a Dragonair... I've been playing my FireRed a lot lately, and I'm gonna train and work with my own Dragonair hard to the 50s, along with me' Raichu and Vaporeon. (heck, I've defeated four gym leaders yesterday... the last four, and I'm still not ready for the Pokemon league. Vaporeon - Lv. 46, Dragonair - Lv. 42, and Raichu - Level 40. I need to train them bunches! Need to toughen' them up and have Dragonair finally evolve to Dragonite! ^.^)

Of course. I proposed Salamence, Sceptile, and Lucario for Nigel and Garchomp, Sunflora, and Butterfree for Rachel as starting points, given these two kids' personalities overall. I would imagine that Nigel would be eager to encourage Rachel after such a loss, perhaps leading to a new moment of realization between these two kids.

I finished watching "Deal of Defense Types" on CN. The battle between Chimchar and Steelix was totally epic, dude! ... I should get back to playing Pearl again. :3 Well, I think I may have a plot for the oneshot... it may be a long one, and Dawn's a secret Starlight Soldier along the way, mwahaha. ^^ Okay... so it's after a contest, Rachel loses to a rival. Nigel and the gang (Ash, Dawn, and Brock) try to cheer her up by maybe a little ice-cream treat. But Rachel still feels a bit upset losing to her first pokemon contest with Dragonair. Meanwhile, Team Rocket have their eyes on Rachel's Dragonair, wanting it for themselves. (they'll play a gihugic role in this oneshot too! ... and feel awfully guilty what happens to Rachel ^^; ) Nigel and Rachel battle each other for boosting confidence and Nigel says he believes in Rachel always. Near the end of the battle, Team Rocket come in and capture Dragonair and fly away in their Moewth balloon. Rachel is totally determined to get back Dragonair, and risks her life to save it. Nigel on the other hand thinks it's a little too dangerous with Ash and the gang, and they try to help Rachel save her Dragonair... Sum it up; Jessie calls out her Servipor, and well... uses poison sting on Rachel. ^^;;; She is ill from the poison, and while taken to a pokemon center Nigel is very worried about her and stays with her until she wakes up and is healed completely. (Operation: IT reference much? ) After a conversation... and... well, Dawn's supportive of Nigel and Rachel together, the two finally get a call on their GKND communicator from Nebulos and that their teleportor is working again... Nigel and Rachel can finally go back home to their own "universe", but it will be a small journey ahead of them. ^_^ While saying goodbye to their new friends, Dawn is still cheering the two on to become a couple in the future. XD And... at the end... when Dawn is in the middle of cheering... Nigel and Rachel are walking down the trail in the sunset... while the Brit is hesitatingly to wrap his arm around Rachel's waist. xD The end. Er... plot-idea-wise. ^_^

A good plot I see, and I trust that Nigel and Rachel will be able to strengthen their bond with each other, with encouragement from Dawn, of course. Team Rocket's interference should give this story the "feeling", if you will, of a standard Pokémon Diamond and Pearl episode, with whatever antics they engage in as they steal Rachel's Dragonair.

“…Oh Dragonair, if only we tried harder.” said the young blonde, clutching the pokeball in her hands.
She had shoulder-length blonde hair that was strapped back into a hanging, low pony-tail, wearing an aqua bandana and orange tank with aqua-shorts. Another pokeball was attached to her small belt; Chikorita.
Rachel McKenzie suddenly heard steps coming towards her. She wiped her tears away, and looked up. “…Huh?”
A hand reached out, that was cut-fingered gloved. The gloves were red—and only one person wore them through their gihugic adventure.
Nigel Uno.
He was dressed in a red, unzipped jacket that was short-sleeved of gray (and a gray t-shirt), and wore blue jeans along with the brown boots and his gloves. (Think of the character Red in FireRed/LeafGreen)
“Nigel.” Rachel whispered with relief, finally seeing him again.
The Brit nodded, still holding his hand out. “Come on now, Rachel.” He said gently with a smile. “One way or another, we’re going to cheer you up and place that smile on your face!”
“HEYYY!” cried a voice full of cheer.
Rachel stood up from the small bench, gripping Nigel’s hand.
Together the two operatives looked over their shoulders, seeing Ash, Dawn and Brock not too far off the path.
It was Dawn who cried out, with a large wave with her arms.
“Rachel, c’mon!” She said. “We’re gonna cheer you up with some yummy ice-cream!”
“Pika-Pikachu!” Ash’s Pikachu was waving its arms, too, with happiness for the two to come along.
For that moment, Rachel smiled. Nigel noticed, squeezing her hand tightly. “That’s my girl…” The young girl blushed light red, and laughed. “Come on Mr. big, bad Numbuh One—think you can race me to the ice-cream parlor?”
Nigel only could grin. “Oh, we’ll see about that my dear Numbuh 362…”
The two made a break for it—running like two kids—running free. Running free from missions, from the disease of adulthood, running from any cruddy chaos that would hold them back… And yes, even Ash and the gang went “blink-blink’ady-blink” when the two passed by in a heartbeat.
“…Pi…ka?”
~**
The small ice-cream parlor was packed with trainers from the contest hall. People were all over, ordering cones, mix of flavors, floats, and exc.
“Booth…booth…AH!” Ash cried, staring at one empty large booth in the back of the shop. “You guys, quick! There’s one—right over there!”
“Well what’re we standing around here for? Let’s go!” said Dawn, grabbing his hand and rushing towards it.
“Right.” Nigel nodded, following along with Brock and Rachel.
The five trainers took the booth, landing in the soft cushions in a matter of seconds.
“Ah… finally!” Ash breathed. Pikachu hopped up on the table, and Ash sat up straightening himself up. “…There we go.” He finally relaxed, with a calm smile.
“Ah—hey, waiter—WAITRESS!” Brock screamed with hearts in his eyes.
Ash, Dawn, and Pikachu sweatdropped and dropped their heads against the table. What an embarrassment right in a shop!
“Hello there!” said the waitress, walking up to the group. She wore a nice outfit with an apron of crazy colored ice-cream flavors on it. Her hair was curled up into a pony-tail. A tag was attacked to her apron, printed “Randi”.
“I’m Randi, and I’ll be serving you today.” She said with a nice smile.
Brock new at the very moment he was truly head over heels for this waitress named Randi. His heart was beating THUMP-THUMP and even the pink swishing anime hearts were in his eyes!
“Why hello there Miss Randi,” said Brock, taking the waitress’s hand. “Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Brock, a former gym leader in Pewter City. Now let me ask you something. Did you know how beautiful your eyes look as deep sapphires? Or your skin so soft with that marvelous tan?” Randi sweatdropped, becoming freaked out by her costumer.
Ash and Dawn bonked down onto the table again, shaking heads together.
Nigel sighed. “Typical teenager romance.”
“Err…sir… thank you for the compliment, I—” Randi was cut-off by Brock’s manly…manliness…yeah, let’s go with that!
“We’ll like our ice-cream now.” Rachel said kindly, sort of in a rush.
“Well, we have our simple French-vanilla with chocolate sauce on top!” said Randi with a smile, writing down the orders.
“Sounds good!” said Ash. “What do you think Pikachu?”
The little electric mouse grinned, nodding its head in approval.
“We’ll take five orders of the special… and a small one for my lil’ buddy.” Ash replied to the waitress, patting Pikachu’s head.
“’Chu!”
Randi simply nodded, and wrote down the last of the orders. “Coming right up—err, Brock… could you… let go of my hand, please?”
“Huh? Oh… sure! But you’re coming back, right?” Brock asked hopefully.
“Of course. I’m your waitress after all!” said Randi, and then winked. “I’ll be right back with your orders, guys!” She walked off to the counter, explaining the upcoming ice-cream specials to the chefs.
“Mmm… I can taste it already!” said Dawn with a delightful twinkle in her eye. “What a wonderful way to be cheered up, don’t you think?” She nudged Rachel playfully.
The blonde girl glanced, and smiled a bit. “I suppose so… I totally owe you one, guys. And so does Dragonair!”
“I think it was awesome!” Ash said, pumping his fist into his hand. “You’ve trained it really well and before you know it Rachel, it’ll evolve into Dragonite in no time!”
“I wonder if she’ll let me borrow it in an upcoming contest of mine…” said Dawn with a laugh.
“You never know.” said Brock, not taking his eye off Randi.
“Brock… you okay?” Ash asked, waving a hand in his face.
The older kid was in a serious trance. Ash and Dawn sighed together.
“Brock, you’ve really got to lighten up. After all these years you’re not gonna get a girl!” said Ash, resting his chin on his hand.
“If he may have the smooth moves, he may even strike the girl off her feet.” Nigel butted-in.
“Like me, Nigelkins?” asked a voice.
Rachel’s eyes twitched. “…No…oh, no…” She whipped her head and frowned, seeing her contest rival.
Relina Reddison. Tall, slender, and with red-pink hair with large bangs across her face. Sassy attitude and loved to pick a fight with the “weaklings”. And when she caught her icy-blue eye on Nigel Uno, she fell for him.
… Usually as lots of girls did for his British accent and smooth moves. Yet a great thing happened—he finally was able to have hair again. Dark brown, and was an antidote by the scientists in the Galactic Kids Next Door. “You! What do you want?!” Dawn demanded, standing up with fury in her eyes.
“Whoa, Dawn!” Ash said calmly, taking her arm gently by the hand. “Take it easy, she probably won’t mean any harm this time!”
“What do you mean THIS time?” Relina hissed.
Nigel could feel the end of his hairs prick on his neck. He lowered his voice, whispering to Rachel.
“… Remind you a little too much of someone?”
“Mmm-hmm.” Rachel nodded. She knew exactly who he was talking about.
Ruby.
Actually, come to think of it… Relina looked too much like Ruby. . . Dude, she was a total HUMAN-version of Ruby! And man, if Ruby found out she would probably faint with a purr!
Unless Zarzig would ruin the moment by pinching her tail with his claw… and causing Ruby to claw his bug-eyes out.
Back to the story, folks!
“You’ve won your contest, can you just stop harassing the little girl!?” Dawn screeched.
Nearly everyone in the parlor looked up from their treats to the back booth in surprise. Dawn sweatdropped, holding up her hands in defense. “S-sorry everyone… didn’t mean to lose my temper there! Hehe…sorry, sorry…mmm….”
She sat down, and then felt a hand on her shoulder. Ash smiled at her and nodded. “It’s okay. You were only standing up for her. No need to worry!” he reassured.
“I’m pretty sure you’re only having this ice-cream as comfort food… poor wittle Rachie, you want Nigie to feed you?” Relina teased in laughing at her.
Rachel’s cheeks grew hot, and her brown eyes narrowed. Nigel’s eyes were like a hungry cat.
He hadn’t heard the name “Nigie” in months… for that moment, he felt feared by it. Lizzie was bossy and possessive over him but he loved her once… but now he moved on. For good this time.
“Bet you’re only weeping around because you lost to me. Hmph.” Relina placed her hands on her hips with a smirk of glory. “Stupid Dragonair. I actually feel sorry for it… it’s weak, just like you! Don’t you understand that you, your stupid Dragonair and Chikorita will never make it? My Butterfree could whip both of them! And take out you in a split second!”
“That’s enough!” Nigel cried, standing up in front of Rachel. “Why don’t you take your snobbish attitude somewhere else, Relina? Rachel doesn’t need this! In fact—we all don’t need this.” He began rambling, taking Rachel’s hand by force and guiding her out of the parlor.
“Good day Relina, and no—I will never be your Nigelkins! In fact, my heart belongs with someone else!”
A large slam was heard and the bell wildly rang.
Ash, Dawn, and Brock exchanged glances.
-
“Oooh, I love that girl’s attitude… so… positively evil!” James became fascinated.
“Oh, knock it off! Besides, she’ll never become as greater than moi.” Jessie placed a hand to her chest with a slick smile. “And she’s only a little punk! She’s wrong about the Dragonair, that’s for sure.”
“Jessie’s right on this one.” said Moewth, greedily rubbing his paws together. “We’re gonna blow that Rachel girl’s happiness away right into the sky! Dragonair is a pretty valuable pokemon.”
“So we’ll do the old-fashioned way.” James smirked.
The red-head giggled, curling her hand into a fist. “Of course. Snatch it, and then fly away!”
“And a muzzle will do the trick too!” Moewth cried.
The Team Rocket trio laughed evilly, forming their plan to put it in action soon… very soon. Until James’ stomach began to growl in hunger.
He held his stomach, whining. “But can we get some of that gooey ice-cream first? It sounds sooo good right now!”
Moewth shook his head with a roll of his eyes. “You and your stomach, whiner-boy… don’t ya think of anything else?!”
“…Capturing pokemon?”
Jessie face-palmed. She took James by the collar of his shirt, and dragged him towards the balloon to put their plan in action and follow the twerps to their next stop.
“WAIT!!! … Can’t we just get a bit of ice-cream before we leave?”
“No.” Jessie and Moewth said in unison.
“Just a little, insty-tintsy bit of—”
“NO!”
~**
“Nevermind her, Rachel… you’ve got to have more convincing in yourself!” Nigel said determinedly.
“But how?” Rachel raised an eyebrow, looking up at him. She was sitting on the exact bench where she was sitting at earlier.
“I thought you’d never ask.” The Brit grinned, tossing around a red and white pokeball. “Make it a challenge. You and I battle two on two to a pokemon battle! No backing out on this one, Rach.”
“… Tiger…I—”
Nigel placed a finger to her lips, shaking his head sternly. “Rachel. You heard what I said. Let’s make this one… a direct order, hmm?”
The blonde girl was red as a berry now. She nodded, not saying a word. He smiled.
“That’s my girl.”
~**
“It has come down to this!” Brock called out to the two operative/trainers. He was in position of a ref of a pokemon battle. “Two on two battle. Nigel vs. Rachel! Let’s get this show on the road, guys! It starts… now!”
“Oooh, this’ll be so exciting!” Dawn said, cheering on her friends. She and Ash were standing at the sidelines along the path-stadium. “This’ll totally boost Rachel’s confidence for sure!”
“Count on it!” Ash nodded. “I can’t wait how this battle’s gonna turn out to be.”
“GO! Chikorita, you’re up!” Rachel called out, throwing a pokeball out to the battle arena. A Chikorita popped out of the ball in a flash, urging with energy.
“Chiko!” cried the Chikorita in a cheerful mood.
Nigel smirked. “Hello, Chikorita. Nice to see you again.” The British boy flicked a pokeball up and down in his hand, and then set it out. “Go—Wingull!”
~** And so, this is so far I have. XD

Oh? Well, I like it already. Ash, Dawn, and Brock feel just about right, and Nigel and Rachel feel determined to do their best for this battle. Compose the rest of this story as you wish, lead Courting Commander and fellow Pearlshipper. I will look forward to it.

Thank you! =3 I'll try to finish it up sometime this week if I can.
But I'm starting another series of fanfiction goodies-- Nichel 50 on dA.
(and recently I've been getting inspiration from some Pearlshippy pictures for some 1/362 pictures... I can just see the two in the snow together. Like Dreamer said, 1/362 reminds her of snow. :3)

Snow may be calm and cool, yet also melancholy. Strangely enough, that might actually describe some elements of Nigel and Rachel's relationship within the original Kids Next Door. Nigel and Rachel were always dedicated to their duties, and they wouldn't want to see each other harmed about anything.

Yes indeedy. ^.^ I've even thought up a little oneshot idea for my own KND Universe. :3 ... Well, I give credit to the 101 Dalmations movie for this one. (animated version ^^)
Nigel and Rachel sharing a blanket in an old barn, watching the blizzard go by... the two are trying to keep warm together, and share some fluffy moments. :3
