But she'll always be watching him from the clouds of heaven. :3 And she'll listen to once Nigel tells stories to their children what an amazing girl she was. ^^

Very True. Besides, dead or not, Rachel's too relentless to give up on anything important to her.

Concluding a presence in the Codename: Kids Next Door fandom? In retrospect, Allie's view of Nigel/Rachel may be the most... soul-warming that I remember of any coupling I've observed here. Even in death, Nigel and Rachel's bond will be unbreakable, and yet, in my case, that bond may in fact be part of my overall interest in the Kids Next Door rather than stand out by itself. I would envision Nigel and Rachel as inspiring the rest of their friends with their seriousness about their basic mission, with these two Kids Next Door leaders themselves sincerely thankful for their friends' support. Any ice cream dates Nigel and Rachel happen to come up with themselves may be that much more rewarding to them before they get back to work.

Somehow, I don't believe that Allie has given up on KND, or her beloved couple. I souly believe that she's just retired from KND activity.
But I do agree, I may not be a fan of this couple much, but I do believe that when two people love each other the way Allie has envisioned Nigel and Rachel doing that they will love each otehr even in death and watch over the other.

Ah. Well, to be certain, that fluffy viewpoint of Nigel and Rachel's romantic friendship will be missed. I find that I enjoyed her various points of speculation about that romantic friendship, even if they more often than not ended with Nigel and Rachel kissing. I might think of Nigel and Rachel as being more likely to save the actual kissing for seriously big moments, most likely the deliberate defeat of whatever leading villain was threatening the Kids Next Door and/or kids across the planet. Nigel and Rachel should be very happy with themselves and their friends that after considerable work and preparation, they succeeded in defending freedom for kids to be kids, thereby fulfilling the premise behind the Kids Next Door's existence.

I will admit, I'm goin to miss that viewpoint as well. But even then, that doesn't discourage me from the fact that KND livews on in her heart.
I too enjoy a more dramatic tense kiss as you would do, as seen from my past fics. But then again, that's probably just my tastes talking.

Neither will I be discouraged, considering the place I've given Nigel and Rachel's romantic friendship within my own fanfiction model. I've thought of Rachel as being compassionate while also maintaining her seriousness. She might even take some inspiration from any words of reassurance on Nigel's part, setting forth to accomplish whatever needs to be done for the day. With Grandfather having come and gone, though, I can't help getting the feeling that a certain unnatural calm may await Nigel and Rachel, which even their fellow Kids Next Door might be able to sense, at least from seeing Nigel and Rachel together. It might even be the case that if Nigel and Rachel have gone missing from the Kids Next Door's line of sight for any length of time, then either these two Kids Next Door commanders are on a date, or -- more likely -- some new threat has risen up to threaten kids everywhere, and Nigel and Rachel are tracking down several clues they've found in order to stop said threat before it's too late. Even I might admit to being surprising at how chaotic the Kids Next Door's world might become as such a threat emerges... but I trust that such darkness will make Nigel and Rachel's bond that much more vitally important.

And so you should not be.
Wow, so you and I see Rachel in the same light, huh? I'm only saying that because I view her as being a stern yet compassionate creature as well. She cares for other people, but she does not let her sleflessness and kindness cloud her judgement most of the time.
Well if you were Allie, I'd say they'd have ran off on a date. But because I know you C7, I assume they're off fighting teh latest terrorists like threat you have created. And just like in IT, I'm sure they'll come out victorious.

Most likely, Rachel and Nigel are serious whenever they need to be, such as figuring out those clues they've found. At the same time, I might think that the more ruthless a certain villain is -- to the point of banning Christmas, Yipper Cards, Rainbow Monkeys, or even all three -- the more outraged Nigel and Rachel become... at least until these two kids and their Kids Next Door friends defeat said villain once and for all, certain in their eagerness to make certain that no other villain of that magnitude ever rises up to threaten not just kids, but people of all ages, again. Nigel and Rachel's example will doubtlessly inspire their friends going forward, so that they've developed a certain form of loyalty to an idea that will stay with them no matter how old they get.

Banning Christmas!? Not if the KNd and the Christains have anything to say about it!
But you're defenitly right in that respect, Nigel and Rachel will always inspire people becuse their beliefs have caused them to become symbols of hope. Their relentless determination towards the situation has caused them to inspire hope and determination in not only their fellow operatives, but in each other as well.

Indeed. I actually feel quite satisfied even now that I did what I've wanted to do in exploring Nigel and Rachel's romantic friendship. There may not have been much in the way of moments between them in the show, but I would think that these two Kids Next Door commanders have maintained their courage and their confidence, their desire to be more than what they were. It took some encouragement on Nigel's part for Rachel, but together, I think, they can bring forth an era of sincere peace through freedom for kids all across this planet... as John Sheridan and Delenn did for the galaxy in Babylon 5. Would you mind if I described that show within the context of my fanfiction model?

Not at all. I've never actually watched Babylon 5, but it will be interesting to see how you work that couple's premise into your fanfiction model for Nigel and Rachel.

Ah. Very well... and thank you. After a few days of having chewed over Babylon 5's overall premise, I am of the conclusion that John Sheridan and Delenn have proven more influential toward my outlook regarding not just Nigel and Rachel's romantic friendship, but all[/b][/u] of my other favorite couples than I had expected even as recently as three months ago. (clearing throat) John Sheridan, a captain in EarthForce, was assigned to take command of Babylon 5, a space station designed to solve disputes between differing humans and aliens, after its previous commander, one Jeffrey Sinclair, left for reasons that would end up linking the destinies of both Sheridan and Delenn, the ambassador from the Minbari Federation -- which almost annihilated the human race 10 years before the events of the main series -- even further. Sheridan is decisive, dynamic, idealistic, and upbeat, while Delenn is inquisitive, strong-willed, smart, and no less decisive. Sheridan and Delenn get to admire each other's traits more deeply as the show proceeds, and at the same time, they start to gather those aforementioned alien races together for not one, but two massive battles, one an almost apocalyptic showdown against two older alien races, the Vorlons and the Shadows, who've decided to annihilate each other once and for all, threatening to take the rest of the galaxy with them, the other a battle to liberate Earth itself after it succumbs to the tyranny imposed by President William Morgan Clark, who even reached out to the Shadows, if indirectly and for his own sinister purposes. When Clark's dictatorship finally ends -- with Clark committing suicide before he could be arrested -- Sheridan and Delenn go on to create an Interstellar Alliance composed of every other alien race they'd brought together in pursuit of freedom, some of whom had been at each other's throats before this intergalactic war, and they get married to finalize their love for each other in the process.
If the events I described sound dramatic, then their basic formula is exactly what I've sought to implement in having Nigel and Rachel lead the Kids Next Door in taking down any villains who rise up to challenge kids across Earth after Grandfather's global rampage. If the Kids Next Door is an organization dedicated to the assumption that kids deserve an opportunity to be free to be themselves, to think, to dream, and to create, then Nigel and Rachel can very well become even better at their positions, inspiring their friends and other Kids Next Door to stand together that much more strongly. You could say, prettywitch, that Babylon 5 had a bigger impact on both my interest in romance and my interest in politics than any other fictional television program I have ever[/b][/u] watched. It was from those two interests that both my past support for Hamtaro and Bijou's teamwork in order to save love for Ham-Hams everywhere in Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Hearbreak and my current support for Ash and Dawn's romantic friendship in pursuit of genuine peace and happiness in the Pokémon world flow, and likewise, my emphasis on Nigel and Rachel's teamwork in countering the jihadists, er, Sacred Strugglers will reveal itself, perhaps with the presence of other players whom the Kids Next Door may not have expected to observe or even interact with in the past, from Global Jewish-Christian Alliance president Rabbi Benjamin Rosenthal and American President Daniel Jeffrey Wolf for the good guys to Iranian President Ali Muhammad Teherani and United Global Assembly Secretary-General Adolf Solanus for the bad guys. I would say that the world that the Kids Next Door once knew has gotten even bigger after Grandfather's defeat, and the attributes they take up and defend should and will stay with them no matter how old they are, under the leadership of Nigel Uno and Rachel McKenzie.

Wow, that does sound dramatic! Although I agree with you, Sheridan and Delenn do seem to be a couple that inspires many, including yourself. You truly seem to have allowed them to inspire you not only in Hamtaro and Pokemon, but also KND with Nigel and Rachel. Yes, the world has becoem more complicated for the KND after GF's defeat, but I'm certain that under the leadership of these two leaders that teh organization can pull through.
Oh, also on an unrelated note, I finally completed my new story and will be putting up teh tie-in story sometime this week. I know that's rather odd to quickly come out and say, but I know you were intersted in read, so I thought I might as wellgive you a heads up.

(chuckling warmly) Thank you very much for your confidence, prettywitch. The attributes and experiences I saw between Sheridan and Delenn fit my thinking about current events quite nicely, which might be another key point of reference between these two Kids Next Door commanders. Now that Grandfather -- who targeted everybody who'd ever been a kid, which essentially meant the entire human race -- is out of the way, I would argue that the rules as the Kids Next Door knew them have changed, so clearly, Nigel and Rachel must adapt. Religious, political, military, and economic figures have either made appearances or received mentions within my stories, and Nigel and Rachel have proven most likely to interact with them in order to assess whatever threat is developing. In a way, my fanfiction model might probably end up establishing Nigel and Rachel as likely to sense good adults, ironically enough, among the evil adults they've been confronting. For example, Vice-President Andrew Charles Cornell, Alaska Governor Catherine Baylene, and North Korean General Tong Ki-Bak have qualified as good adults to Nigel and Rachel's judgment, and there will be more to come before my fanfiction model concludes. One might consider this a quiet but significant shift in Nigel and Rachel's focuses, at least within the Kids Next Door's world, in that in the process of tracking down any clues leading to whatever threat(s) the Kids Next Door must defeat, Nigel and Rachel are willing to place enough trust and confidence in these new adults to actually converse with them or ask them for their help, to the initial surprise but with the eventual acceptance of their friends within the Kids Next Door. It's a matter of consequences, but as long as Nigel and Rachel stick together, they should go higher than they could've imagined in the past.
