A one-shot.
Hershey Kiss
Through scrambling paperwork, pencils, pens, or anything else she could think of in her desk, Rachel looked around for her tasty treat. Chewy pellets.
“Where are they!?” Rachel kept digging in her desk cabinets. “Aw, crud! I remember eating a few yesterday—” She gasped, pulling out an empty plastic bag with the printed letters ‘Chewy Pellets’ on the front.
She rolled her eyes, irritated. “Great. Just great—huh…?” She saw another miniature plastic bag with tasty treats inside. Reaching into the cabinet and taking it, the label was printed ‘Hershey Kisses’ on the front.
“Well. Hershey is a great brand after all… I must have picked this up in the cafeteria a few days ago.” Rachel said to herself, smiling a bit. She ripped the small bag open and plumped a few sweet kisses onto her desk. Opening the first wrapper, she plopped it into her mouth, savoring the delicious goodness.
“Out of chewy pellets, I see.” came a voice from the doorway with a small chuckle.
Rachel immediately swallowed down the kiss, looking up. It was Nigel.
“Oh! Numbuh 1! What are you doing here?” she asked.
He just gave her a friendly smile. “We’re having lunch today. I’m guessing that you forgot, correct?”
‘Darn. I did forget.’ Rachel thought angrily to herself. She shook her head. “Yeah, I guess so. Too much paperwork this time of year, I guess.”
“You’re working too hard. Maybe even going to spoil your apatite.” He chuckled again.
“What are you? My mother?” she asked playfully, giving him a grin.
“No, but a close friend that doesn’t want his leader to have an upset stomach after lunch when working.”
“Oh fine.” Rachel hesitantly swept the kisses into the small bag, tying it up. Nigel blinked.
“You missed one.” He replied, pointing to a Hershey kiss, wrapped in silver.
“Just saving it.” Rachel said, giving him a wink. She motioned her hand for him to come forward, and so he did.
“For what?”
“Mind if we… share it?” she asked, whispering. Nigel gawked, blushing a light pink tone in his cheeks.
“W-what?” he stuttered.
“Oh come now, Nigel. One kiss won’t bite.”
Without any hesitation or remarks, Nigel nodded his head. “Alright… One kiss wouldn’t hurt, I suppose.”
A small giggle escaped Rachel’s lips, as she unwrapped the treat. “You wouldn’t want to upset your commander, now would you?”
“No Ma’am.” Nigel said, shaking his head. He kneeled down, as he leaned his face towards the chocolate kiss. Rachel did the same. As the two leaders bit into the kiss, chewing it slowly, savoring the taste… they also savored the flavor of their lips touching each others.
A few seconds later, Nigel and Rachel pulled away from each other, blushing beet-red.
“Did you… plan this?” Nigel asked, can’t help but smiling.
Rachel coaxed her head to a side, then the other, grinning.
“Maybe.”
Nigel shook his head; the smile was still on his face as he rose from the floor, taking Rachel’s hand in his.
“How about lunch?” she asked.
He motioned his hands forward to the door, “Ladies first,” he replied, grinning slyly.
“My, such a gentleman!” Rachel laughed, smirking as she walked out of her office with Nigel close behind.
As the two walked side-by-side, the Brit took his leader’s hand in his, holding it if it was so fragile. Rachel loved the feeling, and so did he. They both walked into the moon base cafeteria, holding hands.
