I already told Roz and Yuki this, but I figured I'd share it again here.
One of the prettiest things that you could ever hear is Etoile, Tala, Tsuki, and Dal singing together. Singing is a pretty big thing on D'thlany and so they know many folk songs and lullabies and festival songs and still remember all the words.
It's pretty because Dal has a deep voice that's perfect for bass, whereas Etoile's slightly higher voice is good for baritone or tenor, probably closer to tenor. Tala's voice then makes a good alto, and Tsuki's high, tinkling voice makes for a beautiful soprano. So when they sing together, it's really beautiful.
Anyway, this is a song that I grew up singing and I WISH I could sing it for you guys, or find a video of it, but I can't. It's so beautiful, though, but I'm posting the lyrics here so that you can kind of get the gist of it, because I can imagine them singing this together with their various parts:
Spider’s WebDown in the valley,
There is a mission,
By the old oak tree.
By the mission,
There is a fountain,
Where my love told me:
There’s a web like a spider’s web,
Made of silver light and shadows,
Spun by the moon in my room at night.
It’s a web made to catch a dream,
Hold it tight ‘til I awaken,
As if to tell me, my dream is all right.
In the evening,
I was leaving,
My love dreamed of me.
I was sleeping,
She was weeping,
When she said to me:
There’s a web like a spider’s web,
Made of silver light and shadows,
Spun by the moon in my room at night.
It’s a web made to catch a dream,
Hold it tight ‘til I awaken,
As if to tell me, my dream is all right.
I met a stranger,
His name was Danger,
We rode side by side.
Down in Santa Fe,
I killed a man they say
Danger told me, “Ride!”
There’s a web like a spider’s web,
Made of silk and light and shadows,
Spun by the moon in my room at night.
It’s a web made to catch a dream,
Hold it tight ‘til I awaken,
As if to tell me, my dream is all right.
Now if I return,
They will hang me,
By the old oak tree,
Down by the mission,
Down by the fountain,
Where my love told me:
There’s a web like a spider’s web,
Made of silver light and shadows,
Spun by the moon in my room at night.
It’s a web made to catch a dream,
Hold it tight ‘til I awaken,
As if to tell me, my dream is all right.

Total Mercedes song.
"You seem like the type to love 'em and leave 'em, and disappear right after the song"

I keep forgetting to show Roz this so I'mma put it here before I forget.
Soare once wrote a song for Aaron on her e'aif. She's really embarrassed by it, though, and doesn't think it's good enough.
Of course it would sound different from this, since it's different instruments, but I kind of wanted to show Roz the. . . the mood of the song she played. Kind of haunting, mysterious. This is a good example of what it sounded close to.
