Chapter 10: The judgement.
Three o’clock, Numbuhs 1, 2, 3 and 5 were waiting for Numbuh 4, who they had to talk with.
5: Numbuh 5 doesn’t think he’s coming, he probably chickened out.
3: Yeah! What a wimp! She was angry again, and more than before.
2: I still don’t get it…
1: He has to come and he knows it. So we’ll just have to wait a little. Just as Numbuh 1 had said this Numbuh 4 came in to the tree house, looking very sad. Of course he knew why Numbuh 1 wanted him to be there. They were going to the moon base, but not to be celebrated as they used to be, they were going there to judge Numbuh 4 for letting a teenager in to the tree house. The others looked disappointed at him, he was carrying a book.
5: What’s that book to? She pointed at the book. Numbuh 4 didn’t really answer the question; he just mumbled something about defence, or something.
1: Let’s go Numbuh 4. With that Numbuh 1 let Numbuh 4 and the rest of the team in to the S.C.A.M.P.E.R (You know the one from the show), and then they flew of to the moon base.
No one spoke on the way to the moon, they had already pointed out who should be in which position. Numbuh 1 were going in front of Numbuh 4,Numbuhs 2 and 5 were going on each their side of him and Numbuh 3 were going behind him pointing a “gun” to his bag so he wouldn’t try anything.
They reached the moon.
1: Team. The team understood, and went to their positions with Numbuh 4 in the middle. He cuddled the book and looked very sad, he tried to look desperately at his friends, but no one gave him a look back. They all looked very disappointed.
He looked behind him to see an angry, disappointed and sad Numbuh 3. He still looked at her, she looked back.
4: Kuki… He tried but she cut him off.
3: You asked for this yourself pal! And that was all, Numbuh 4 knew her well enough to say that there were no more to talk about. She pushed him a little, and they walked on.
In the court room (you know that stage thing)…
Every single Kids Next Door was gathered in the court room, with Numbuhs 362 and 86 waiting on them on the stage. They all looked very disappointed, with no exception.
362: Numbuh 4 you can sit down there, and the res of you sit there. She pointed at a chair to Numbuh 4 and a bench to the rest of sector V. In front of the chair Numbuh 4 was sitting on was a table where he putted the book. Numbuh 3 noticed now that there was a pink book mark in it.
3: It’s probably HERS!
362: Kids next door rules!
KND: Kids next door rules!
362: We stand here in this court to judge Numbuh 4, who have done the worst you can imagine. He let a teen in to the tree house… Everybody gasped, and started to mumble to each other.
86: SILENCE! Everyone went silent. Numbuh 362 continued.
362: Numbuh 4, would you stand op please? Numbuh 4 stood op. Numbuh 362 held out the KND rulebook so Numbuh 4 could touch it.
362: Do you Numbuh 4 aka Wallabee ’Wally’ Beetles of sector V swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? ‘Cause if not we’ll just through you in arctic jail.
4: I swear on my soul, I’ll only tell the truth, and if I tell as much as ONE lie you could kill me and tare my heart to shrimps. A few members of the KND gasped at this, no one had ever sworn with their whole life.
362: You can sit down again. Numbuh 4 sat down and opened the book he had. Now Numbuh 3 saw it was the KND rulebook, and as she thought it was HERS book mark.
Numbuh 4 had opened the book to revile a pink book mark with purple letters saying: ‘Clair’ with a girls hand writing.
3: Probably also HERS!
The court started
362: Is it or isn’t it true that you gave Clair a huge clue of where the tree house is?
4: Not on purpose, but yes it’s true I gave her a gihugic clue. A few KND members gasped.
362: How long have you known this Clair?
4: My entire life.
362: How long is she going to stay here?
4: The entire vacation.
362: How old is she?
4: She turned 13 a week before she came. People began to whisper and mumble together.
86: SILENCE! She slammed a hammer on the table in front of Numbuh 362.
The court continued.
362: Is it or isn’t it true that you have a relationship with her?
4: It’s true but not… He couldn’t say anymore, because every single KND member was now talking loudly. He tried again: But it’s not what you think it is! No one heard him, there were too noisy. He looked at his team member for back-up, but they were busy comforting a crying Numbuh 3.
86: ORDER IN THE COURT! ORDER IN THE COURT! It went silent.
4: But it’s not…
86: SILENCE! She cut him off (or is it of?).
362: Before we judge you, do you have anything to say to your defence?
4: Yes, if you would let me…
362: Of course. What do you have to say?
4: First I want to say, that I’m really sorry for all of you! You won’t let me finish! But fine, fine. I don’t need to say anything, you aren’t listening anyway. So… People began talking again, now they were angry with Numbuh 4, even his own sector began calling him nuts.
86: SILENCE! She slammed the hammer on Numbuh 362’s table once more.
362: I asked if you had anything to say to your defence Numbuh 4! Yes or no?
4: No! I do not have anything to say…
362: Fine then it’s settled…
4: BUT! Every KND gasped, no one had ever interrupted Numbuh 362. Numbuh 4 continued: I have nothing to say, but I have something to sing. Dead silence and then everybody blurred out laughing.
2: Good one Numbuh 4! ‘I have something to sing’. HAHAHAHAHA!
4: I’M SERIOUS! The laughter stopped
362: But you cannot sing.
4: Oh really? Then take a look at page three hundred forty four paragraph two, it says clearly and I will read: If a person let to court can’t explain in words, it’s alright to sing as long as the song have something with the situation to do. Numbuh 362 who had found the spot read it, and looked at Numbuh 4.
362: Well it actually does stand in the rulebook. So if Numbuh 4 wants to sing, he can do that. But does it have anything with this to do?
4: I would say so…
362: Fine then…
And then Numbuh 4 began singing:
I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared
After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving?
When I’m done here?
So if you’re asking me I want you to know
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I’ve done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don’t resent me
And when you’re feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
Don’t be afraid
I’ve taking my beating
I’ve shared what I made
I’m strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I’ve never been perfect
But neither have you
So if you’re asking me I want you to know
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I’ve done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don’t resent me
And when you’re feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
Forgetting, all the hurt inside you’ve learned to hide so well
Pretending, someone else can come and save me from my self
I can’t be who you are
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I’ve done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don’t resent me
And when you’re feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
Forgetting, all the hurt inside you’ve learned to hide so well
Pretending, someone else can come and save me from my self
I can’t be who you are; I can’t be who you are.
(Linkin Park - Leave out all the rest)
Under the whole singing Numbuh 4 had looked at Numbuh 3 and at the table in front of him. He had only caught her looking back three or four times.
4: And that’s all I’ve got
362: We will now consider your case Numbuh 1 walked op to her and Numbuh 86 they stood together and whispered.
362: So what do you think?
1: Well it is first time this has ever happened, I say we band him for a week where I hold his watch.
362: Numbuh 86?
86: I say we decommission him right away.
362: Well I agree with Numbuh 1, so we are two against one.
Numbuh 1 walked back and Numbuh 86 sat down looking angry
362: The court has decided to have a little mercy on Numbuh 4, so the judgement to Numbuh 4 is: you are banded for a week where you give you’re wrist and all other KND related machines to Numbuh 1, and then in a week you can have it back.
She slammed the table with the hammer. Numbuh 4 sighed in relief, he was sure he was going to be decommissioned.
4: Clair is so going to pay for this!

Okay I know, I know... Numbuh 4 probably isn't much of a singer, but I just LOVE that song (and I thought it fitted in)...
