Well, let's just put it this way, one of the few (if not the ONLY) canon ship in one of my favourite 1990's cartoons has some symmetry to my favourite 2000's cartoon couple: ^

Oddly enough I have two Disney pairing that remind me of certain KND couples.
Fa Mulan and General Shang remind me very much of Rachel and Patton. Mostly in personality, but also in terms of how I view them forming their friendhsip; which is that they don't like each other at first, but then slowly do come ot like each other once they get to know the other person.
Lilo and Stitch reminds me a bit of Wally and Kuki, again in both personality and in interaction. Except that Stitch is much orme intelligent than Wally, Kuki isn't as oddballish as Lilo, and Lilo and Stitch's relationship is more brother/sister than it is actual romance.
