This is a story I've been working on on and off for several years now, called Griffin Feather, about two girls, Rosemary and Elizabeth. It's about some things are timeless, like dreams, hope, and love. So, umm, yeah!
Prologue
Rosemary sat on the edge of the bed, running her hands over the quilt, staring out the window. Staring at the birds. Staring at the fluffy clouds that floated by. Staring at the horses running across the plain. Staring at everything that was more free that she'd ever be. Why did she have to be the princess, forced to marry a man she didn't know. Was it so wrong that she loved a boy who did not have money or a title to his name? She ran her finger through her long, flowing, straw-colored hair as she though of the things to come. She laid down on the bed, closed her eyes, and allowed herself to dream of what would never be.
--------------------------------------
Elizabeth's eyes fluttered open as she heard a familiar voice call her name.
"Hey, Glitter, wake up!"
She jumped out of bed, and ran to her closet. She grabbed the outfit she'd already picked out, her favorite shimmery silver blouse, and ice blue skirt, and bolted back to her room.
"I am, Gizmo,"
She called to her twin brother, Eric, but she'd called him Gizmo for longer than she could remember. She wouldn't let it get to her today, because today was her first real date with Will. After being his friend for years, they would finally be something more. She pulled her clothes on happily, pulling her black hair into the pigtails Will liked so much. She laid down on the bed, closed her eyes, and allowed herself to dream of what would soon be.
