Yep, she's doing it again. Lol, so this one-shot came to me overnight and it's basically just something that I thought would be pretty funny and cute. It all started with one of my pictures and Yuki commenting how Dengeki and Unagi would be all "One of us, one of us"....mainly because of her hairstyle. Then I got to thinking that she's sort of mischevious like them..and...yeah.
Pay in mind, this happened in my head overnight, so please bear with me on the random-weird things that may ensue. Also, I'm doing this after telling the jist of it to Roz, who said for me to do it.
I'm doing it! I'm doing it!....X333
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Initiation:
"I've got a lovely bunch of weaponry, diddely-dee. There they are sitting on my bed...." Zoelin Janors was inside her room sitting on the bed as she was laying a few items on it. There were no missions today, and no one around base was doing anything, so she figured today would be a good day to get some things done.
If 'getting some things done' meant to just sit around and admire or polish some of her collectibles, then yes, she was doing exactly that. In fact, there was one pile towards her right where there were many pieces of metal that looked to belong to some sort of Qualbit-Shooter.
"Note to self: Ask Finnick to fix that before giving it back to Nebulos," she said to herself, making a small note in the air with a fake pen.
As she picked up another item, this one being some sort of flashlight, something caught her attention.
Knock-knock[/i]
Her ears perked up as she whipped her head around. "Hello?" She waited for a response, but no one answered. Figuring that someone probably hit against her door or something, Zoelin turned her head back around to continue.
Knock-knock[/i]
There it was again. Frowning a little, the Whiskite teen looked at the door again. "Yes?" She asked, a little annoyed that whoever was out there still wasn't answering. When there was no response again, she turned back to her work. However, when the knocking came a third time, she didn't bother to raise her head and look.
Knock-knock[/i]
"It's open." She replied to the patting, and was answered by the whooshing sound of her door opening. Smiling a bit to herself, she spoke again. "Why didn't you--aah!"
In an instant, a large brown sack was placed over and around her, covering her from head to foot. Zoelin could feel two pairs of hands grab around her, one of them holding her feet and tails together while the other held her arms in a bind. Still, she wriggled about inside.
"HEY! What's the big idea? Letmego!"
After a few seconds of struggling, she stopped, her ears picking up faint voices from outside of the sack, presumebly the ones carrying her.
"Why are we doing this again?"
"To let her in, of course!"
"Remember what happened last time?"
"Ah...never dwell on the past, dear brother. It's not very healthy. Besides, it got you two together, right?"
"....whatever. But what if she says no? This isn't really the best way to do it."
"Who could say no to us?"
Then, just as abruptly as she had been taken, the voices stopped and she fell out of the bag. Landing on the ground with a thud, she opened her mouth to speak, but a green hand clasped around her lips.
"Shhh....Unagi, get the door."
"Right."
Zoelin stood up, noticing that the room around her was very dim in lighting, though she could still make out some of the figures in the dark. Those figures being none other than Dengeki and Unagi, the twins.
Once Unagi had came back, Dengeki let his hand down revealing Zoelin's frown.
"Ooooh, she doesn't look to happy."
"Nonsense," Dengeki told him before standing up straight. Moving his hands and arms in a weird-waving motion, he brought them together, clasping his hands as if he was saying a prayer. "Oh Zoelin Janors, you have been chosen for an excellent opportunity."
Unagi imitated his brother's motions as he added onto the sentence. "Once in a lifetime, this event has been held....Wait. I thought we held it last week?" Unagi asked.
"Hush, you. You're breaking the atmosphere." Dengeki replied.
Zoelin could only raise an eyebrow as her frown disappeared with the look of wariness. "Riiiiight. Well, you two enjoy having your little cult. I'm gonna go." She turned on her heel and was about to start looking around for a way out when Dengeki grabbed her shoulder.
"Now wait just a minute. At least hear us out."
"You have been chosen by the ones from above and beyond to join us." Unagi added into the plea.
Zoelin turned her head around and asked, "is this because my hair goes over my eyes like you two?"
"Err....." Both twins looked at each other. Unagi could only give a shrug as Dengeki turned back to her.
"That's not important...but maybe. Anyway, like we're saying we've decided."
"And planned."
"That it's been written that you should join us." Dengeki finished. "Will you consider?" By this point, Zoelin had turned fully back towards them, and began to think. There really wasn't any harm in it, and besides...they wouldn't do anything bad to her, right? What was the worry in it, she might have a little fun.
Finally, she shrugged. "All right. I'm in." Both boys grinned their purple teeth at her before she spoke again. "One question."
"Shoot."
". . .do I get a toga?" Dengeki's smile grew even wider as he looked to Unagi, who had instantly pulled out a sparkling white toga from who knows where.
"Oh..my...stars!" Zoelin's jaw dropped and if it weren't for the yellow bangs that were in front of her eyes, one might've seen how wide they were. However, they didn't need to, for the huge grin that was placed on her face was wide enough.
"S-ssso shiny...." She reached out for it, her hands grabbing the clothing delicately as she could. After giving it a once-over to make sure it wasn't just a pillowcase that was bedazzled, she hugged it close.
"Only the finest," Dengeki winked at her.
Unagi pulled out a piece of paper, one side containing the weird words that they had spoken earlier which explained his confusion from before, and the other side containing a list of things. "Should we get started then?"
"Indeed. Now, Zo, you must not tell anyone until the ritual's complete. We want it to go smoothly without any interupptions."
Zoelin nodded, somewhat understanding it all. As she began to fold the toga, she looked up at them. "By the way...what was with the whole 'grabbing me and taking me prisoner in a brown sack'?"
Dengeki was the one who decided to explain. "It added more mystery to the atmosphere."
"Oh."
---------------------------------------------------------
Throughout the day, Zoelin and the twins did a few things that Dengeki and Unagi would normally do, which included: Causing a few food-confusion in the kitchen. Making a few switcheroos to the schedule-planning in the offices. And of course, giving a few willing-yet-guillible aliens a few pieces of their homemade drinks...which contained Kiliao peppers from the Grunoa planet, the hottest peppers in the galaxy so far.
Now, after a few hours of harmless, yet testing pranks, Zoelin couldn't help but laugh as the twins were whispering. When they saw that she was finished holding her sides, Dengeki began.
"It is time for the last test!"
"Bum-ba bum-ba, bum-ba bum-ba," Unagi added in the background as special effects.
"The test that will guarantee your place, your spot among us. Only by passing this will prove your worthiness and dignify your specialty. It is of highest honor that you--"
"Get on with it," Unagi interuppted him, stopping his background music. "You're not the host of the Galaxy's next Idol."
"Right...Anyway, you're last test is here." Dengeki and Unagi grabbed Zoelin's hands as they went towards one of the rooms. Zoelin had been around the base before, but this was one room she wasn't familiar with.
"What room is this?"
"You'll see." They told her. Zoelin only smiled, wondering what weird yet funny thing they would have her do...until she came inside the room. Once inside, her grin faded away.
"You have to swim...across the Base's pool 5 times within 3 minutes," Unagi told her, pointing at the large pool.
"We figured you'd be a shoo-in since you've got those tails of yours and can just propell across it. But, it's part of the ritual," Dengeki whispered to her.
However, his words fell upon deaf ears as the color on her face was immediantly drained, making her fur turn a light red-near-pink. There was a reason she'd never came into this room before, it was one of the pools that the base included for some of their aquatic-aliens. Lucky for her that her eyes were covered, or the two boys might've seen the widened display of fear that was displayed within them.
"Uh.."
"Aw, look Unagi. She's so flattered, she's shaking with anticipation." Dengeki pointed out.
How was she going to tell them that she didn't want to do it. The crystalline-blue color of the water only glimmered back up at her, as if it was taunting her. Zoelin had rather go jump off a cliff, or at least dive into one of the chasms back on her homeplanet. Anything would be better than swimming in that pool.
"I..I...I can't." She managed to get out, after shaking her head to break the deer-in-the-headlights stare she was giving to the water.
Both twins frowned, and Degenki was the first to ask her."Why not? It's not that hard, in fact it's easy."
"Yeah, managing to place those Kiliao peppers in the chef's food while he was still in the kitchen was harder than this," Unagi pointed out.
The teen still replied with a no, shaking her blond hair in emphasis with her response. "I can't do it. I...I just don't want to." She folded her arms and turned away, facing her head towards the door.
"Hmm...very well then," Dengeki nodded before giving a look to his brother. Unagi nodded in a silent response when the older brother gave a wink. No one could tell what they were up to at the moment, until Zoelin caught sight of a bright luminescent neon green tail was tapping on the floor next to her.
"Hm?" One eye open, she stared at the tail until it jumped a little. It would be nice to say that she didn't fall for trick, and she left the room. It would be nice to say that, but alas, life sometimes didn't work that way. An uncontrollable urge rose inside her, the same one that rose when she was a little kid, and she soon found herself crouching on the ground pawing at the shiny-bright tail.
When she tried to grab it, it went a little ways out of her reach. This only made her follow it and try to grab at it again, which the tail had only made it's way out of her reach again. They continued on like this until Zoelin somehow found herself leaping towards it...and into the water.
SPLAAAAAAAAAASHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
"Mission accomplished." Dengeki smiled, giving Unagi a high-five. "And now we wait."
Zoelin should've realized that the tail was only a trick, but she fell for it. She would've had a right mind to go up there and say something, but at the moment, she was freaking out about her situation. Somehow managing to stay afloat, she splashed her hands around while trying to keep her head in the air.
"Pfftt..Hey! Help!!"
Unagi looked towards the water, now seeing the red Whiskite flailing her arms about. His smile faded away and he looked towards his brother. "Hey, bro?"
"Yes, bro?"
"I think...she can't swim."
"Nonsense, whatever gives you that idea?"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!! GET ME OUT OF HERE!! HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLPPP!!! I CAN'T SWIM!!!!!"
"....something like that." Unagi replied.
"Huh. That's odd, she never mentioned it before..."
"That explains why she didn't want to do it in the first place--oh crud....I think she's going under." Unagi pointed out, now seeing the girl's blond head bobbing over and under the surface.
A pair of blue and purple eyes widened as they saw this. "Well, don't just stand there. Let's go help her!"
Zoelin was pretty close to giving up, thrashing her arms about in the water. Almost, though she had to at least give it one last try before letting her worst fear become a reality. However, two pairs of hands grabbed both of her own, dragged her towards the edge, and quickly pulled her out.
Once on the hard tiled surface, Zoelin began coughing and gasping for air. She did manage to get out a few words out in between breaths.
"What...the ...heck???!!"
The two boys looked towards each other before they both stared towards their feet. "We didn't know...honest," Unagi began. "You never really said anything."
"We just thought...yeah, pretty much was he said." Dengeki added, which made his brother elbow him pretty hard in the ribs. "OW!...I mean, uh...Why didn't you tell us? We would've picked something different."
"Yeah..." She coughed again, spitting out some left over water in her mouth. "But I thought you guys would laugh at me."
"Well actually--oof!" Unagi had elbowed Dengeki in the ribs again, stopping his reply. "Er...no we wouldn't. But, seriously? How come you can't swim?"
By now, Zoelin had stopped coughing and was sitting on the ground. She looked to her left and right, making sure no one else was inside the room. Of course there wasn't anyone there, but she had to make sure. Looking back up at them, she patted on the ground indicating for them to come closer.
"My home planet hardly has any bodies of water around. The largest one is at least a lake, and that's not even deep; there's a few rivers, but it's pretty much scarce. Anyway, I've never really learned how to swim. It never really was a necessity and besides, I couldn't start once I was in the GKND...people might've laughed at me." She looked away, holding herself to keep warm.
Dengeki and Unagi looked at each other, both a little surprised and shocked. The twins didn't say anything until Zoelin turned back to them.
"I guess this means I can't join, huh?"
Silence came upon them for awhile, until Unagi had gotten an idea."Well, it's never too late to start, right?"
"Right you are dear brother." Dengeki agreed, and upon seeing Zoelin's confused expression, he contiuned to what he knew his brother was thinking. "You can still be in...just, you'll have to take lessons."
"Take them as a sort of an apology. From the both of us, okay?" Unagi asked. "We'll keep it secret until you graduate from our classes," he added in a wink. Zoelin nodded slowly before smiling again.
"Thanks."
Dengeki and Unagi helped her up as they were getting ready to leave. "Of course, it was Unagi's fault after all." He told her as he opened the door.
"What do you mean? You're the one who lead her into the pool!" Unagi protested once they were out in the hall.
"Oh don't give me that, you should've known about this from the start. Mr. 'I can tell girl's emotions better than you'....." The twins began to argue once they were far enough away from the pool, and Zoelin could only laugh at each one of their responses to the other.
------------------------------------------------------
And there you have it!
Hmm, I think this was pretty long too, it was kind of fun though! And for once, Zoelin wasn't random this time...well, a little, but still.
Anyone else want to take swimming lessons from the twins? X333 lol.
