Soare and Koyu. It's very short, not even a full page in Word, and I don't mention their names once, so it's helpful if you remember what colour their respective eyes are, since I do mention that. XD;
---
Tears were streaming down her cheeks before she had even opened her eyes.
Shaking, blue orbs held a blank stare, focused somewhere in the distance, on somewhere too far to reach, blocked by the ceiling.
A lump in her throat, incredibly painful, seemed to be where the first sob originated from. Then as she turned and buried her face against the sweat soaked pillow, the new choking cries came from deeper, right from her heart.
Visions of her dream flashed through her mind. The smiling faces full of pride, the joyful silent laughter, the briefest touches carrying the strongest affection… everything she was missing terribly, all brought together in one heart-wrenching episode.
Her shoulders jerked as she wept, gradually with more force and volume, the pillow only partially muffling the sound. As sobs turned to wails with no sign of stopping, the other form in the room began to stir.
Sitting up in surprise, with eyes wide and lit brightly in the darkness, it took her a few moments to figure out what was going on, but the moment it clicked she was across the room like lightning, clambering onto the bed and enveloping the miserable girl with her embrace.
She continued to cry. She couldn’t stop. But when she felt herself surrounded by a warm presence, the noise faltered, and she dragged herself up just enough to wrap her arms around the torso of her sister. The sobs started again, directed into the younger girl’s chest as she held onto what little she had left here of the one thing she was longing for: home.
The pair didn’t move for a long time. Even after the wails subsided to mere whimpers, then a heavy silence, they remained still. But they had both been rudely awakened from the slumber they so desperately needed after a long day, and within a few minutes they had slumped from vertical to horizontal, still holding each other tightly, nestled in the creased bed sheets. Their soft, synchronised breathing was the only sound remaining, and would carry them through until the next morning, leaving no hint that there was ever a disturbance in the room.
