EDIT: I FORGOT TO CREDIT SADIE FOR THE D'THLANYIAN WORDS ETOILE SAYS NEAR THE END. SHE CAME UP WITH THAT, NOT ME. XD;
I was booored and felt like writing about Etoile and Nalo cuddling or somethiiing so here's what is basically their first bedroom cuddle session. XD Taking place probably... two days after the clumsy mistletoe kiss or something. I dunno, it's four am, I don't care. The title fails because it's four am too.

In the vast cafeteria of the GKND base, dinner was served - the key word being was. Only a few figures remained in the room, picking at what was left of their meal and making idle chatter, having absolutely no interest in leaving until they had to. One particular couple were slowly being abandoned by their friends, who were more interested in getting a good night’s sleep after a long day’s work than sitting around and talking. But the remaining aliens didn’t have any reason to move, not when the other person was the only one they wished to be with right now. Tail and tendril tied together beneath the table, even their eager conversation was beginning to dwindle, and they both decided that leaving would be a good idea.
The pair hastened to detach their limbs as they rose, Nalo floating serenely but swiftly towards the door, with Etoile not far behind. They were laughing with amusement as they entered the corridor, and their lips met briefly, then again, then once more, his tail returning to her person to twine loosely around her waist. A gentle smile on each of their features, a purple tinge rose in the boy’s cheeks and he scratched the back of his head and mumbled something about heading back to his room, since it was late and all. But she wouldn’t have any of it, and with a silent chuckle she stole him away with her limbs, practically dragging him in the direction of her room. She flung the door open, and slammed it shut as the pair toppled uncoordinatedly onto the bed, tangled up in the girl’s extra limbs.
“We need to work on that,” Etoile commented, referring to their messy landing, a playful grin flashing his barely yellow teeth. As she retracted the many limbs, Nalo couldn’t help but return the smile, leaning in just as he did to catch his mouth, resulting in some minor clashing of noses and jawbones. “And that,” he chuckled as they shot an apologetic glance to each other and they tried again, soon falling into a gentle rhythm as their lips moved in sync, hands hesitantly exploring the other’s outline, both equally worried about making a wrong move.
Minutes passed, and they pulled away, keeping no more than a few inches between them as they gazed fondly at one another, happy to be in the other one’s presence. For a moment, Nalo seemed distracted, glancing off to the side, triggering a worried expression on Etoile’s face, but she just shook her head, the smile returning, and he cuddled her close, letting her rest her head against the curve of his neck. Just the soft sound of their breathing could be heard, the couple gradually letting fatigue sink into their bones as the hardships of that day began to take their toll.
Pressing a light kiss to her hair, Etoile inwardly grumbled as he felt his eyelids becoming heavy, wishing he could stay up all night with this girl in his arms, holding her close, talking if they wanted to, just making the most of them. “Why did it take so long…?” The question was a quiet murmur, almost a whisper, and the response was a silent shrug, golden eyes glancing upwards to lock with the curious blue orbs above. “We’ve been friends for so long… how… how long have you…” he swallowed awkwardly, wondering how she would take the question, “have you… known… that… we… I… you like… nnh…” The words just weren’t coming, but she seemed to know exactly what he meant. The notebook that lived at the foot of her bed was summoned by a limb, and a pen with another, scrawling a short message for him to see. “A long time.”
A small frown defiled his features, and as he opened his mouth to make some sort of apology, Nalo cut him off, pressing her lips to his neck and slowly moving along his jaw line to catch his mouth, distracting him from the matter at hand completely. But still, when they were separate once again, “I’m sorry I didn’t realise sooner” were the words she heard, and she rolled her eyes lightly and smiled, showing him there was no reason to be sorry. “No, really… you’ve been suffering for so long just because I was blind…” he was startled out of speaking when her face was all that filled his vision, a faux irritated look in her eyes, as if daring him to continue.
“Are you tired?” was the new question, catching her by surprise as she pulled back a little bit. She broke eye contact for a few moments, before nodding slightly. It had been a long day, and as much as she didn’t want to admit it, she could do with some rest. Etoile’s arms tightened around her, and the whisper “Then you go to sleep, I’ll still be here when you wake up,” drifted into her ear. It was enough to convince her, and she buried her face against his warm chest, letting her tired eyes slide closed as Etoile did the same, his cheek resting against the top of her head. “Li’io nuen,” Sleep well, he murmured softly, the words barely audible, but the slight movement from Nalo suggested she had heard it. Pulling a quilt around them both just before he could slip from consciousness, the only light remaining in the room was spilling in through the window, in the form of the gentle light shining from the various sparkling stars in the sky; some of the dots could be moons or planets, but they were all lending their light to the pair for the night.
