I CAN'T WAAAAIIIIT!! ;D It'll be so good seeing a classic Disney 2D animated movie again! ^-^ I've really been missing 2D, I hope they'll do more again! :3 I'm really looking forward to this one! It's also creative that they chose to set it in New Orleans, other than the other fairytales, which's location was unknown. And a crocodile playing jazz! I'm very happy to see that one too! ^^ Disney often put jazz in their movies, it'll be great seeing some of that again :3

Is anyone going to see this the FIRST day it comes out, or wait a week or so for the excitement of opening week to die down? *giggles*
You know the theatres will be packed to the max with kids on opening day!
I'm just happy they bumped the release date up to Dec. 12, I can see it the week after I get out of school! ^^
(and can anyone else NOT get over the fact that Naveen is so much like Hoagie and Tiana as Abby. XD That's like, stuck in my head now!!! *giggles* ^u^)

I can wait for it to come out ^.^ and it's coming out on my birthday! It looks like such a cute movie, and it's been so long since Disney has made a tradionally animaled movie, I think the last one was Home on the Range, in what '03?
And this is really weird I was a The Disney Store the other day and that had these Princess and the Frog bookends, and one had her and the other had a girl I've never seen before, she was white, with blond hair with a beehive hairstyle and a super puffy pink dress. She was sitting in a chair next tp a vanity, smiling, any idea who she is?

I'll probably try and go see it the first week it comes out, but that depends if I find anyone who wants to go see it with me and if I'm not piled up in homework that weekend( which I probably will be).
But yeah, I'm totally excited for this movie! I hope it does well, and that it's actually good so that we can get Disney back to teh way it was.
Oh yeah, I totally see Hoagie and Abby as Neviene and Tiana. In fact, I posted a picture of the two in Halloween costumes. It's in my self named Halloween pictures thread if you want to go take a look.

Eh, I still think that the plot was stolen from the book, The Frog Princess.
But I think it'll be a good movie, overall. I've missed Disney's traditionally animated movies.

Yeah...that's kinda standard with Disney though. *shrugs* If you do research, you'll find that practically all of the Disney classics reflect/are based on original stories, and they just add their own a twist. Aladdin, The Little Mermaid (in the original she doesn't get her prince, she turns into sea foam and is washed away), Mulan, Pocahontas, The Lion King (Hamlet), The Lion King II (Romeo & Juliet), Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty etc. So actually, The Princess and the Frog is keeping with the soopah old school tradition of Disney. (Also, originally the movie was entitled 'The Frog Princess,' just as all Disney's past films took the titles of the classics stories. But they decided to change it to the 'Princess & the Frog'). ----------------------------------- @ NumbuhPi: The girl is actually Tiana's best friend in the film. Her name is Charlotte. ^^ The first 5 minutes of the movie is out now and she's in it. It's with them as kids though. ^^ So cute!! ^u^ I like how Charlotte is so into the Fairy Tale and Tiana's like, "Yuck!" XP lol! ^^ Little does Tiana know she'll be living that Fairy Tale out in her own way soon!

True, but still. The Frog Princess was a pretty recent book. I think it was published in 2002, so it wasn't one of those 'folk tales', which is why I was surprised. I really do want to see the movie though, I loved the book. ;D

OO They're so cute!! This might just be the best Disney movie this year, but we'll have to see if it can beat out Up ^.^ and I love they're accents <3 and the music too, jazz is awesome *Pulls out her trumpet and plays along* You know, I've always found it odd that there was never an African American princess you know? We've had an Asian princess, a Native American princess, but, anyway.... Oh, Charlotte and Tiana remind me of Angelle and Luce a bit ^.^ 'specially when Charlotte was nodding and Tiana was shaking her head no XD

We've had an Asian princess, a Native American princess, but, anyway.... Oh, Charlotte and Tiana remind me of Angelle and Luce a bit ^.^ 'specially when Charlotte was nodding and Tiana was shaking her head no XD *giggles* I can honestly say that with all the princesses and/or heroines, Disney looks like it's trying to connect with all aspects of culture now. Mulan-Asian Pocahontas- Native American Megara- Greek Jasmine- Arabian Esmerelda- Gypsy/Roman Ariel-...erm...fish-person? XD (*giggles* Ariel's always been my fave, w/ Jasmine as a close second) and so much more!! ^u^ They always try to make the characters someone that some members of their audience can relate too, whether emotionally or culturally. So I too think it's nice that they're adding an African American princess to their little "heroine melting pot" (as I call it); but I also love her personality & strong-willingness. (I've been watching a couple of featurettes on youtube; and I just love Tiana's personality. ^^) She's got the same drive as like Jasmine & Ariel & Mulan. That Independent Woman's streak. And Naveen is just...OMG, he's hilarious! He's that spoiled rich kinda prince! *giggles* So not cliche like the other Disney Princes. He's totally like a kid who wants to just have fun & flirt! I love it! And he's cute, I wouldn't mind dating him if Tiana doesn't want him. I like guys who can make me laugh! *giggles* ^u^ OMG! And I can see how the little girls are like Angelle & Luce in that clip. Especially with the nodding/shaking heads part. So Angelle would be like Charlotte, right? Soopah positive and loves Fairy Tales and very romantic. But Luce could be like, "Frogs are slimy and gross and have warts, ew!" *Giggles* Awesome connection there, Ellie! ^^ I'm even more excited now! Looking forward to TP&TF will help me get through these last tough weeks of school! ^^ And I also know the fanfictions & fanart are going to go through the roof! That'll be fun to look for too! (The last Disney film I SOOPAH enjoyed was WALL*E. UP was good, I liked Doug & the dog that had the Chipmunk voice...and Kevin. XD But personally WALL*E was my fave. For me, it'll be whether or not if TP&TF will outdo WALL*E ....i have a feeling it probably will. I feel like a kid again when I watch the previous b/c it's so vintage Disney! ^^)

But I think it'll be a good movie, overall. I've missed Disney's traditionally animated movies. I think it's safe so say that we all miss Disney traditional movies. I sure hope this film changes Disney and they'll go back to the way they were in the 90's and teh early 2000's; making quality films and not focusing as much on the pop fanacular.
