This is a topic I once posted on the other KND forum, but I also thought it would be intereesting to post a similar one here and see what other people think.
One of the earliest questions that has plagued fans for many years is just how Father obtained his powers. No one really has a true explanation, and since the show itself has never given us a true explanation, it has truly been left up to fans to determine the basis of his powers. That said, here's the question.
What is your theory on Father's powers origin?
My theory has always come from the idea that Father's suit is sort of symbiot like in nature, something I only began to believe in teh aftermath of wqatching ZERO.
How he obtained this symbiot suit is that Ben was determined to become like his father and to gain a little respect from him, so he had a bunch of scientists begin to work day and night on making him something similar to his father. One day, Ben goes down during a testing meeting, but something goes horribly wrong and an explosion ensues, releasing the symbiot. Attracted to Ben's agression, it leaps over towards him and attaches itself to him, transforming him into the Father we all know today.
What is your theory on Father's origin?

Wow, good theory, well I think that...
If you look, father ever want to be as his father, so he was trying to have power, but nothing, so he was a normal enemy for KND. And one day the kids next door do something that makes him very, but very angry, and his powers wake up. He ever have his powers because of is father, I mean he heredit of his father, only that before it was sleep. And if father has that power, it means that Monty "0" could have it too, and Nigel, we only need that they get mad because of something.

Thanks. You're theory's pretty good too, I really like it. The idea of Father being just a ordinary KND villain and then having his powers manifest and take over him is an interesting origin and idea.

I created my own little thoery that I had for my own KND AU fanfiction; never got it written, though. ^^; Nigel; Parents of a Hero, which it was called. Nigel&Rachel went back in time to destroy GrandFather once in for all, but also went to Numbuh 0, 999, and Ben for help. Later in my idea, Ben actually developed a little crush on Rachel... and built up the courage to tell her. She rejected him, telling she only liked little Ben as a friend... and truly loved Nigel. n_n As Ben moped...well... GrandFather noticed of his depression, and his jealousy for Nigel grew. Grew hard, vicous, wanting to rip the bald, British hero of the blonde girl's dreams apart even. GrandFather brought Ben to the darkside, wanting Rachel to love him back by force. Father felt the flames raising with great heat, and unleashed the true evil from him. Feeling his hot-blood rush throughout his vains, bones, skin... "Good, my son... very good." Which it also involved Ben to develop, using his little-dragon tramsform skills, too. So... that's a little thoery of mine.  |

Actually I haven't thought of it. O.O Maybe I will... but I'm so caught up in my own ideas for GKND, I might not have time to start a new original KND story. ^^;;

Okay, I understand. Although I got to say, Rachel would probably find Father being attracted to her as a kid creepy. In essence though, wouldn't that create a time paradox?

That's another reason why she doesn't want to be with him, actually. ^^; Heh... it's kinda... pedophile-ish to me in a way.  But maybe one day the inspiration will come back to be and I'll finally get to typing it. Who knows, maybe I'll eventually start it this summer. |

I agree. Although that would be a pretty funny scene if Father realized that his weird crush on Rachel as a child was the origin of his powers.

I have this theory which I will include into my KND: Angel fanfic, which I am desperately trying to finish dispite the fact that my HUGE EXAM in coming up....... And BTW, this theory isn't just about Father's powers, it's about Granfather's powers, as well as their ancesstors' powers...... Okay, here goes: It was thousands of years ago when this happened. The demons and their master the Satan wanted to have some fun. So they placed an orb full of Dark powers in a cave of a mountain. Anyone who had greedy thoughts that managed to posses the orb would posses its powers of the Dark. As soon as it was known in the nearby villages that a great power laid upon that mountain, many greedy men fought for it, for they wanted that power, and they did not care that it was the power of the Darkness. One man forced his family to come with him, and fight for him. He had a wife, and many daughters and sons. He made them fight the other men, and die in his place, while he managed to enter the cave with the orb unharmed. But one of his sons did not die, although he was wounded. That son followed his father up into the cave, and , as his father was taking in the orb's powers, he accidently took some in too. His father was, of corse, furious, for he wanted all the power to himself. Both father and son fought with their powers, and the son managed to kill his evil father there and then. But he was badly wounded, he lost one his legs and his arm could never function propely again. The son returned to his village, and managed to live a rather normal life by keeping his powers a secret. He never told anyone what happened on the mountain even though they asked him why was he so badly wounded. He got married to a village girl, and she was the only one that he told his secret to. They had a son, but the man was worried that his son would inherite those dark powers within him, and may use it for evil since that power was meant to be evil. He prayed to God, and had a dream where an angel told him that his son would indeed inherite those powers, and so will some of his decendants. But, even though some of them will use it for evil, as it is meant to be, if any of those cursed with that power was pure, they will be able to use it for good, and defeat those that use it for evil, just as he had used his powers to defeat his evil father. And so the powers continued to pass down through generations, but not all of the man's decendants were cursed, or blessed, with it. Some that inherited the powers used it for evil, but some used it for good. Grandfather was one of them who got this power, but he used it for evil and took over the world with it. He had two sons, Monty and Ben. (As you have seen in Op.ZERO) He favored his older son, Monty, more than Ben, and hoped that Monty would inherite those powers so that he could teach Monty to use those powers for evil and be able to reign with him. Of corse, he was defeated by Monty before he could do anything. In the end, the powers were not inherited by Monty, but by Ben, who used it for evil and became Father. And ever since then, he used his powers to try to defeat the KND that his brother had formed, in the name of jeolosy and revenge. But he hated his brother's son, his nephew, Nigel Uno, more than anyone else. For he found out that the powers would be inherited by Nigel, and knew that Nigel would definately use it for good...... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bleh, okay, sorry about being so dramatic.......  That's my really long theory up there........ ;D |
