Mother's Day Mayhem
It was a normal morning on the weekend, one where there would be people very lazy and would sleep all day rather than get up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. It was a Sunday morning, after all, and who would want to interrupt it's tranquility by being out and about?
"BRIIINNNGGGG!!!!"[/i]
Of course, the only thing that would disrupt a nice morning such as this one, would be an alarm clock that wasn't supposed to go off at 6 a.m....but rather at 9 a.m
"Hoagie..." a voice mumbled from underneath the sheets. "Turn it off...."
The woman's comment was replied by the person she was speaking to, with his own, "fhhfhnnn.." It wasn't a normal one, but it was still a reply.
A pale, thin, and slightly roughed, hand reached out from the large blue sheets and it's fingers danced about the table for something. "Where's that stupid alarm...." His voice, now clear with actual speech, accompanied his hand....until it pressed down on a button.
"Ah..." A smile came upon his lips, thankful for the silence. He turned over and opened one eye, revealing a grayish blue one that was greeted with an equally-one opened brown eye.
The two eyes stared at eachother with an almost understanding of peace and slumber, untill..
"WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Now, each eye's own partner had opened up, and both pairs of blue and brown had grown wide at the sudden sound. After awhile, they turned into those of a very sleepy gaze, and blinked everyonce or so until their owner spoke.
"I'll go--"
"No..I'll get it...You stay in bed, Abs...Okay?" Hoagie leaned his head foreward and kissed her nose, earning a small scrunch from the tickling of his messy auburn hair onto he forehead. He sat up, now actually awake and ready to start the day, Hoagie leaned foreward and grabbed his yellow-tinted glasses. Abby had reminded him before that even though he may know where everything is in the house, he still manages to bump into things.
Of course, he tried to deny it, but he learned well enough that you don't argue with a woman who's earned her black-belt at age 14.
Without even putting on his slippers, Hoagie walked out of their bedroom and into the next one down the hall, where the screams had grown louder. He came upon two cribs; one blue, and one pink, and again, without even thinking, he went towards the pink crib where the owner of the cries had layed.
"I still can't believe it...how is it, that he's always so quiet?" He asked himself, looking over towards the small boy who lied sound asleep in his crib. Funny how he was named after his father, and yet, so far, he wasn't really acting like him.
"Must be the mysteries of life, I suppose." He sighed to himself, rocking his daughter back to sleep. "Come on Taylor," he cooed as she kept wailing, though they were getting softer with each rock. "I bet you're not going to sleep until I tell you another joke, huh?"
That almost did it, as Taylor began to grow even more softer, her bluish brown eyes now wide and looking at him.
"See? Okay..hm...How's this one: What did the chicken say when he crossed the road?" Taylor replied with a blink. "He said, 'I though it was a Chicken Run!'" Unable to controll himself, he began to laugh at his own....'joke'.
Taylor, after a moment of blinks had laughed as well, giggling until she grew drowsy again. Hoagie smiled at himself, glad he handled the situation well...
However, he didn't know that little Hoagie III, or H.3. was up at the moment, witnessing the whole 'joke-telling'.
Just as Hoagie set little Taylor down, her older-by-three-minutes twin brother began to cry. Hoagie began to panic a little as he held up his son, now trying to figure out what made this toddler cry.
"Please, don't tell Abby you told another "chicken joke'?" Hoagie whipped his head around, now seeing his wife leaning against the bedroom's doorway. She was in her dark blue night-robe, with her hands folded and a smirk upon her lips. As Hoagie gave her a small grin, Abby shook her head.
"I still don't think he likes those jokes of yours," she sighed, taking H.3. from his arms.
Hoagie rubbed the back of his head as Abby rocked the small boy back to sleep. "He still needs to get used to them. You did too, remember?"
Abby raised another eyebrow at him, wondering if she should toy with him or not. "Hmm..." she replied, with a smirk. "Abby's still not too sure about that..."
Hoagie frowned a little, looking a bit hurt, but his face immediantly lit up as Abby leaned up and kissed him on the lips. "But Abby is sure, about this." And with that, he gave a kiss back to her as well, while their son fell back asleep.

"Now, are you sure that you're going to be fine?"
"Of course Kooks, I'm with Hoagie, aren't I?"
". . . .yeah....I'm still not so sure." Kuki stood in front of her husband, looking him over from head to toe to make sure that he had everything he needed: clothes, diapers, formula, blankies...and a rainbow monkey. The way she looked him over, it was as if he was going to help out at a daycare center.
However, that wasn't the case, as he was only staying at Hoagie and Abby's house while Kuki and Abby went out to the mall for awhile.
"Come on, Kuki. He'll be fine. He's going to be with me, remember?" Hoagie asked, both hands in his pockets.
"Yeah..." Kuki said a little slowly, her eyes looking past the two adults towards the three babies in the play-pen. The twins were still playing around with the siding while her own daughter, Koa, was rolling about--literally.
Abby laid a hand on the worried mother's shoulder."Kuki, I know Hoagie just as much as you do--"
"Maybe a little more than that," Hoagie whispered to Wally, making them both chuckle.
Abby shot them both a glare, which made the two of them clam up. "But...he's a good guy, and so's Wally. So don't worry, our kids are in good hands." She smiled. "Right?"
"Right!" The two husbands said, before kissing their respective wives on their cheeks. "Have a good time at the mal!" Wally added.
"Some Mother's Day this is going to be," Kuki whimpered a little as Abby pulled her out of the door.
"It's gonna be a good one, you'll see."
Once the door was closed, the two buddies looked at eachother. "You can take off the heavy-artillery now," Hoagie grinned as Wally pulled off the baby bags that were all over his arms .
"Phew, I never thought I'd get that off of me," Wally breathed as he stretched, relieved from the huge weight that was lifted.
"I know, now come on. I want to get Abby's Mother's Day present out of the way." As Hoagie turned away to head towards the kitchen, Wally grabbed his arm.
"Hang on, I thought a day off from the kids was the mother's day gift?"
"Ah, but you see my friend, that's only part of the gift." Wally gave a confused look before Hoagie just shook his head. "Just make sure the kids are safe in the play-pen and come into the kitchen...you'll see."
After Wally made sure that the play-pen was nice and secure, while also trying to check and see that there was enough toys for them to play with, he left the kids for the kitchen.
"Okay, Hoags. So what are we doing--"
"Shh! It's on." Hoagie hissed, as he sat next to a small t.v. with a man wearing a chef's hat standing in front of a counter.
"Hello Cleveland! How's everything out there? Good and wonderful I hope, esspecially since it's Mother's day!" He said, while pulling out a collander, a mixing bowl, a pan and a spoon.
Wally frowned a little. "Hoagie...Don't tell me we're doing some cruddy cooking show."
"Of course not, Waly." Hoagie replied as he went into the cabinent, pulling out the same things as the man on the T.V. "We're following the guy on the cruddy cooking show," he grinned as he placed a chef's hat upon his head.
"How do I get myself into these messes?" Wally sighed, shaking his head as Hoagie went to the refrigerator to pull out the necessary ingredients.

It seemed like almost every mother was given the day off, and the only option was the mall, for the mall was clearly jam-packed full of ladies. Kuki and Abby's eyes widened as they saw the whole scene of women fighting over a Mommy's Sale on shoes.
"Maybe we should've went to the park," Kuki whispered.
"Oh, what's a little ....300 or more women besides ourselves, right?" Abby assured her, or at least tried to. It really wasn't working when an at least over 50-year-old woman fight against an expecting mother over a new purse.
"My money's on the 50-year-old," Abby raised an eyebrow, watching said woman bite the other lady's ankle.
"Do you think they're doing all right? I don't think we should've left them home like that..."
"No, no, girl. We already planned it for weeks, remember? It's not like they're going to burn down the house..." Then, as Abby trailed off, a pair of violet eyes grew smaller at the mere thought of it.
"B-b-b-burn the house?"
"Calm down, Kuki--"
"Let's go home..."
"No."
"Please?"
"Nuh-uh." Abby shook her head as she led her friend out of the mall, leaving the scene where the older lady claimed the purse rightfully hers, and the pair went back to the car.

"How did you even do this?"
"I dunno....He said 'add three eggs.'"
"You're supposed to crack them first, Wally." Hoagie exclaimed as he began to go for the fire-extinguisher, to blow out the now on flames cake.
"Well...that explains why the batter was crunchy," the blond chuckled as his friend glared at him for a moment, urging him to continue as to how the nice-and sweet cake had turned into an unexpected out of control flambe.
"Okay...so, maybe putting the cake on 7009 degrees wasn't a good idea...."
"Gee...you think?!" As the two men argued, they didn't happen to notice three watchful pairs of eyes: two that were blue and brown, and one that was green.
'Do you think that it's going to go out?' Taylor asked her brother.
H.3. only shrugged. 'I dunno...but Momma's gonna have a fit when she sees this.'
'You think Aunt Abby's going to have a fit...wait untill you see my mommy!' Koa exclaimed, waving her little hands about.
Just then, the flames grew higher despite the anitcs of the two adults.
'Oooh....pretty lights,' the three babies cooed.

Kuki seemed to simmer down a bit from her anxiety as Abby treated them to StarsCash, now both infused with a little of frozen coffee.
"I don't know what it is about StarsCash, but they have some good coffee that does the trick." Abby smiled, looking over at Kuki who was still sipping at her drink.
"I guess," she smiled, still slurping the sugar and caffine-infused drink. "Maybe it's because they added Rainbow Monkey Rise-and Shine to their marketing."
"Maybe," Abby agreed, until a loud siren cut in between the two girls' conversation. They pulled over the car, letting the fire-truck through, when Abby noticed that the truck was going towards the street where her house was.
"Don't turn left, don't turn left," she whispered. Apparently, luck didn't like her today, as the fire truck went left and down the street. Immediantly, she pressed the gas-pedal as she drove the car following the truck.
"I knew it was a bad idea," Kuki groaned, now gaining her previous anxious worry back.
&&&&&&&
"Just act cool, okay? Be cool...be cool..as...ICE! Ice...'cause we're nice..."
"That rhymes with....lice..." Hoagie muttered as he held H.3 and Taylor in his arms, while Wally held Koa, as the two were standing outside waiting for the fire-fighters to finish putting out the fire.
The babies were clean of any marks of dust, but the opposite could be said for their respective fathers. "Let's not tell anyone about this..okay?"
"'Kay...as long as Kooks and Abby don't find out, we're good--"
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!!!!"
Slowly, Hoagie and Wally turned their heads to see two very angry-looking mothers. Kuki quickly grabbed Koa as Abby grabbed the twins, still holding the glare of death upon their husbands.
"Now, now....Kooks...Language...he heh.."
"I DON'T CARE! You and Koa could've been killed!" Kuki exclaimed.
"But we're not...so...it's all good, right?" Hoagie stepped in for his friends defense.
"No way..." Abby shook her head, while tapping her foot. "Now, as my friend had just asked...What. Happened?"
"Well...you see...." and Hoagie began to explain about their idea of making a little cake for the girls, being Mother's Day and all, along with a nice brunch or something.
Just like the house that was being relieved of the unnecessary smoke, the ladies' rage had simmered down as well. "Well, why didn't you just say so?" Kuki asked.
"It was a surprise?" Wally replied sheepishly, as Kuki came foreward and rubbed the soot from her husband's cheek.
"I can see that," she giggled. And as she kissed his cheek-- the one that was free of soot.
Hoagie turned to Abby with a hopeful smile, and the girl in question only shook her head. "I'm not mad at ya anymore...although you did almost burn our house down..."
"I didn't mean too..." Abby kissed him on the cheek with a sigh.
"I know, Sugar Daddy...I know..."
"But Wally," Kuki began, now a little confused. "You know you're not supposed to cook unless I'm there with you..."
Hoagie's eyes narrowed. "You're not allowed to cook?"
Wally shurgged. " 'ey. You didn't ask."
And with that being said, the two couples watched as the fire-fighters left the house-- along with the special-crunchy cake, in a small sense of relief that this Mother's Day wasn't a huge disastorous one...but a rememberable one.
