Interpretations. We all have them, and we all enjoy using our interpretation to help others understand how we see a certain relationship would work out in our head. Of course, that's not to say that our interpretation is teh correct version of a couple. For there are many interpretations of even just one couple, many created by other people. That said, here is the question.
What kind of interpretations do you have about couplings or pairings in KND?
To start off as an example, I'll begin with my interpretation of Nigel and Rachel. My interpretation is that they're almost like wo business rivals who ahve a soft spot for one another. They don't generally agree with each other on everything, but at the same time they can't help but admire the others strengths and needs.
However, I have always thought that Nigel and Rachel once admitted that they very well could have fallen in lveo with one another, but because they lead such different lives that it lead them down different paths.
What's your interpretation of certain couple or pairings?

A new exercise I see at this moment, perhaps consistent with a steady renewal of interest in my Codename: Kids Next Door fanfiction model. In the case of that model, I have reached the conclusion that my other favorite couples, from Herbie and Lizzie to Wally and Kuki, are expressive of either the outcomes flowing from or the events behind decisions made by Nigel and Rachel. I wish to begin with Nigel and Rachel themselves, in that I've come to see Nigel and Rachel as being a couple of serious, intelligent, and inspirational Kids Next Door commanders who can understand each other's thoughts quite well. Nigel and Rachel's feelings for each other might most likely grow as they work together in solving a problem among their fellow Kids Next Door or tracking down some clues to a new threat first thought to be against kids but later revealed to be against teens and adults, as well. Once Nigel and Rachel successfully defeat said threat, their admission of romantic interest in each other will be that much more rewarding to them, so that they will have earned quite well any dates they plan in order to celebrate their achievement.

That sounds like a pretty good interpretation for Nigel and Rachel's relationship, especially given how well they seem to know each other if you go by Operation IT.
That's actually sort of how I view Rachel and Patton together. They understand each other's feelins quite well, and as they grow closer as friends and allies, so do their feelings.

That's actually sort of how I view Rachel and Patton together. They understand each other's feelins quite well, and as they grow closer as friends and allies, so do their feelings. Oh? Well, perhaps I was more specifically focused on their thought processes than simple romantic interests by themselves, in the sense that any feelings Nigel and Rachel develop for each other could flow precisely from their ability to be on the same page, so to speak, quite often during a major threat or challenge. Nigel and Rachel might either be determined, satisfied, or even outraged at the same time, and that might very well be the key point, sort of like how I've come to envision Ash and Dawn together. Nigel and Rachel's Kids Next Door friends might be most likely to notice just how similarly Nigel and Rachel act... right before these two Kids Next Door commanders press on. As for their friends, I find that Wally/Kuki and Lee/Sonia may have gotten the most visible treatment overall within my fanfiction model. To start, I have envisioned Wally and Lee as being similar to each other in terms of common sense and calmness, leaving Kuki and Sonia to be their normal joyful selves. Sonia may lean more toward innocence and timidity, unlike Kuki's enthusiasm and cheerfulness. Meanwhile, Lee and Wally might be able to sense right away when something is wrong, mostly by defending some abnormal movements, say, in a forest or aboard a train. The differences I've come to describe between these two couples may be most evident in terms of their proximity to Nigel and Rachel whenever those two commanders are in their investigation mode. Whereas Lee and Sonia might be more curious to see what Nigel and Rachel are up to, Wally and Kuki might be more likely to explore the world around them, namely Earth, and end up personally encountering anyone revealed to be threatened by whatever new villain Nigel and Rachel are researching, such as Atifa Al-Saud, Miguel "The Kid" Mendoza, or Sang Haneul. Just as Lee may move to protect Sonia first, Wally might be more likely to move to protect Kuki first, getting all of them out of harm's way until reinforcements -- probably led by Nigel and Rachel -- arrive. Lee, Sonia, Wally, and Kuki's instincts should complement Nigel and Rachel's research regarding said new villains, and all of them should be no less satisfied with any feelings they develop along the way. I might think that Wally and Kuki would be the most openly romantic of the couples I've assessed so far, but those two prepubescent spies should be no less dedicated to the Kids Next Door's basic mission than Nigel and Rachel are.

Oh, that's what you meant. Sorry. But yeah, I see where you're going with this. Their feelings coudl grow from their ability to be on teh same page most of the time, something that I think is rather remenisant of ZERO.
In terms of Lee and Sonia, my interpretation of them would probably be very close to Wally and Kuki, in which it's incredibly obvious that they like each other, but the other is waiting for the other to come out and say how they feel. But even though Lee's kind of shy about his feelings for Sonia, he'd still risk his life to protect her. The only difference between my interpretation of Wally and Kuki & Sonia and Lee is that I wouldn't really give them any melodrama to have to work through.
Wally and Kuki on teh other hand I would give some melodrama to, given that some of teh stories centered around them in teh show were a little dramatic at times. I'd still portray them as a sweet couple, but I'd give them a few hardships to deal with before Wally just finally comes out and admits his feelings to Kuki.

Hello everyone, today I want to cover a new interpretation. Today's interpretation will be none other than Hoagie and Fanny.
Now since I'm not exactly a fan of this couple, I'll explain exactly what I think of them. My interpretation of this couple is teh iodea that they share a very basic relationship based completely on hate...at first. But I feel that slowly by slowly they'd become very good friends. How do I figure this, because I feel that once they get past what they hate about each other, they can get to see just how great the other person is, and develop a very deep frienship, something almost rivaling Fanny's friendship with Rachel.

Numbuh Two/Laura Limpin These two are the primary couple in my KND fanfics, a relationship I built from the ground up. Although initially intimidated by Laura and her alterego, the Big Badolescent, Numbuh Two learns to appreciate her cheerful heart and her interests (she reads Incredible Hulk), and is now willing to stand up to her when she grows obstinate. Laura is the only one who believes Numbuh Two to be as heroic he thinks he is, and she laughs at every one of his bad jokes. Her association with Numbuh Two has made her both less isolated and less selfish, and she can perform checks-and-balances on him if necessary. Numbuh Two is spared the wrath of the Big Badolescent, who will often emerge within Laura to defend his honor (or attack any girl that gets close to him!) Numbuh Two has learned that the Big Badolescent can be a boon rather than a curse, though he is not above using her as leverage in his arguments with Numbuh Five. When Numbuh Two is doing his detective thing, Laura helps out as his Girl Friday, complete with 1940s dress. The Big Badolescent becomes a 1940s mobster with a tommy gun.

Aww! That's very sweet. I personally don't see them together, but I respect your opinion. It seems that you've taken quite some time in developing their relationship, much like I've done with Rachel and Patton the last few years.

Though it's not always popular, I've done quite a bit of work for 2/LL over the years; it's all archived at my site www.angelfire.com/anime3/gokuarale/knd.html. I haven't seen some of the more recent KND episodes, so I don't know much about Patton other than that he runs the KND training program in Antarctica. Do Rachel and Patton have a lot of significant scenes together, or did you make it appear out of thin air, like I did with Hoagie/Laura?

Ah yes, I remmeber looking at that site a few times. You have a really ncie archive, as well as a really nice artwork.
No, Rachel and Patton never really had any significant scenes together( in fact, teh biggest scene between them is teh fight scene in ZERO), I just developed their relationship together because I found them to be interesting together. As it turns out, it's lead me to where I am today.
