So, yeah. Uhm.

So I'm Sadie, and I usually am under the name "TheNocturne" or "Nocturnerising." I love drawing and I love to write, either fanfiction or just generally. I fully support 3/4 and am growing to love 2/5 as well.

I have a fanfiction account on fanfiction.net under the name "TheNocturne", full of lots of Kuki and Wally stuff, including my latest work, "When I Close My Eyes". I also have a deviantart.com account under the name "Nocturnerising".

Uhhhm. . .

I dream of being an author one day. "Nocturne" is in a lot of my usernames because that's the title of the book that I'm trying to write. It's basically a fantasty, with romance and action and lots of other good stuff. My goal is to finish it soon, but I've not even really started.

I want to be a computer animator when I'm done with college, which I've just started. It'll take a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it.

But aside from all that, I'm a friendly, happy-go-lucky girl who loves to create. I like roleplaying, chatting, apples, pasta, Teen Titans, and basketball. And I don't know what else to say.

The plot for my book? Sure! I'm warning you: I haven't found a simple way to explain it yet. So it's going to get a little long.

Hmm. Where to start.

It's about two civilizations that exist together. Long ago, there was just one civilization, ruled by a wise King. When he suddenly fell ill and died almost immediately, it was unclear which of his daughters, who were twins, would take the throne.

The first daughter, Sanyae, was wise and beautiful, and some of the people felt that she would lead their country to prosperity with her wisdom. The second daughter, Nariyae, was strong and cold, and other people felt that if she was queen, she would lead their country to power because of her military genius and her ruthless ways.

A civil war broke out, and on the dawn of the Day of Bloodshed, the ghost of the king appeared on the battlefield and placed the two sides under a curse.

Sanyae and her followers were pushed back into the city. They were given the curse that they exist only during the daytime. When the sun sets, they vanish out of existence, only to reappear in the same place the next morning when the sun rises again. They became called the Daylighters.

Nariyae and her followers were cast into the forest, and were cursed to exist only during the night. When the sun rises, the same happens to them; they vanish. They came to be known as the Night-Runners.

Only when the sun is actually touching the horizon, during sunrise and sunset, are they allowed to exist together. But as soon as the sun disappears or rises into the sky, that period is over.

During the periods when they exist at the same time, the two people go to war. Not only fighting for revenge (for each civilization blames the other for their current condition), they believe that by conquering the other civilization, they will be able to gain control of all of time, and exist permanently. So they are constantly attacking each other.

The Daylighters live in a glorious city, with wealthy districts surrounding it. They are bright, innovative, creative, and constantly advancing. They place great importance in knowledge and are consider themselves far superior to the Night-Runners.

The Night-runners are crude, vulgar, and have built a complex web of homes in the forest. They are violent and place more importance in the strength of their military, and give honor to their fiercest warriors. (and as a side note, while Daylighters are appear as normal humans, the Night-Runners have grown several different characteristics - pointed ears to help them hear in the dark, florescent, glowing eyes that help them see in the dark, stronger builds, thicker limbs, etc.)

Anyway.

So the story takes place generations later, focusing on a Daylighter boy who wants to be a scholar. His name is Phoebus Laticcy, and he is a curious man who wants to know everything about the world around him. . . including the Night-Runners. He doesn't understand the logic behind the hatred toward them, and he sets off to find out about them himself (which is considered treason by his people).

He meets a Night-Runner girl named Ailith, who is struggling to become a warrior and earn honor for her family. She is stubborn, violent, and quick to anger, but he eventually persuades her to talk to him. The two begin to interact and, over time, fall in love.

Of course this is not allowed by either society, and the war between them only heightens as the two search for a way to break the curse and escape the havoc that has begun to rage around them.

MAN, that was long.
I hope anyone who reads this will actually get through that. Maybe.

Wow, you're book idea sounds very intriguing, I hope you take Numbuh C12's advice and tweak your story into something that may very well be worthy of being published one day.

Perhaps you could enlighten me on what it's missing? That way I'm aware on how I can tweak it? As for the pointy ears, I was wondering about that myself. I was wanting to make them different somehow, so I might end up just changing the shape of their insides instead of the outer curve. I don't know.

I'm actually really excited to write it. I love experimenting with the two races, and the characters were fun to create.
I have Ailith's younger brother, Tritic, who is the only person that Ailith can really connect with. He wants to be a warrior as well, but he's too young and this leads to problems.

I have Phoebus' best friend, Titus. While Phoebus is slow, thoughtful, Titus is rash and more opinionated. He's charismatic and loyal, but he doesn't quite think before he leaps.

The two captains of the armies are Captain Caeth of the Daylighters and Captain Drjt of the Night-Runners, and they're very similar in how they think and react, but they'd NEVER stoop so low as to admit it.

But yes, I'm well-aware that it's not fully ready to be published. I'm still working on developing the main plot; how the curse is to be broken, how Phoebus and Ailith interact, and, more importantly, how they connect with one another despite their obvious differences. If any of you know the meaning of "Nocturne," that's a hint.
