New Idea, perhaps?

I'm close to wrapping up "When I Close My Eyes", which is a shame, because this story has been so fun to write. I've been enjoying it every step of the way, and I should have the next chapter up soon.

But anyway.

So after I finish "When I Close My Eyes", I want to start a new multi-chapter story, which will probably still be KND. Which leads me to the point of this board.

I wanted to do a story with the next generation. . . I've seen a lot of it around and I thought it would be fun. Not to mention that I would have fun designing my own characters.

So here's my very, very vague, super vague idea for the plot, and I want to get some opinions on it, to see if it's worth writing or if it would just crash and burn.

It would have a child of Kuki and Wally's, a child of Abby and Hoagie's, and maybe a child of Nigel and Rachel's, I don't know. The storyline is that there's a new evil rising (similar to Father, but not the same. I thought it would be funny to play on Father and create a "Mother", but I'm not sure) and threatening the KND.

But it's not enough for the new generation to handle (as they were assigned to this new evil), so they bring the old Sector V to the future to help them (thinking that it would be more fun than to just radio for help from moonbase. Silly kids), resulting in chaos, laughter, and mischief all around. If I wanted to, I could even throw in some romance, between members of the new Sector V.

It would be difficult, especially trying to maintain so many characters, but I think it would be fun to attempt. Any opinions on the matter?

I think you've got a pretty interesting ball rolling so far personally. What I would suggest to you is to:

.Invent two more characters who have no past connection to Sector V
.Expand the side characters as well so that they have some input to the story
.Figure out what has changed in the KND, and what has not
.Try and make your OCs their own characters while still adding traces of personality traits they inherrited from their parents
.When creating OCs, please refer to the handy guide for not creating Mary Sues

I remember that there's fanfics with a similar concept on ff.net, but most of them were usually never finished, or written in a rather rushed way. I think if you have a good plot and a good writing technique (which you both have, I believe), it could really work out great! I've noticed that in your stories, you've given your side-characters a rather outspoken personality and also added depth to them. I'm sure the same would go for Sector V's children, so if they have interesting personalities like that, I'm sure it'd be a fun story! ^-^ And I'm positive you can pull that off! x3

Well, since there are usually five people in a sector, of course there are going to be other OC's. Even if I have a child from Kuki and Wally, a child from Abby and Hoagie, and a child from Nigel and Rachel, that leaves two more for me to create, and of course I would give them a voice. I don't play favorites with my characters.

Don't worry. I know how to avoid a Mary-Sue.

I just think it'd be fun to try. And if it crashes and burns, then it crashes and burns, and I learn more from it, right?

Sorry if my advice sounded like I was making it seem like you don't know how to write good fanfiction, I was just trying my best to help. Although to be fair, I think most people nowadays know how to avoid Mary Sues, so I probably shouldn't have put that in there.

I was just trying to explain that I did intend to create two others and that they would have a voice, just so that no one was confused.
