Cracking his eyes open, Etoile was first startled by how bright the room was.
No, wait. That was Nebulos.
Cracking a grin, Etoile listened to the alien speak to him, mentioning their worry and Nebulos' own gratitude at his condition. He felt guilty for worrying them, and was about to apologize when Nebulos offered him a lollipop that looked absolutely delicious.
He tried out his voice carefully. "Yes, please, thank you." It was much to hoarse, but he didn't mind that for now.
Then Niji was awake, and Etoile felt a rush of happiness as she came over. So she was alright, too! Her thin arms wrapped around him in a hug, but that wasn't enough for Etoile. He looped an arm around her frame and pulled Nebulos off of his head so that he could rejoice in one big, warm group hug.
"You're alright, too!" His voice was still scratchy. "We did so good!"
Beaming at both of them, his eyes caught another body close by that was smiling. His eyes lit up, blue orbs sparkling brillantly, and he untangled himself from the mass of limbs. "Be right back!"
And then he was flying across the floor where he slammed against Nalo, hugging her tightly while he spun around to come to a stop. "NALO!" His cracked voice still carried a bit of happiness in it. "You're alright, too, we're all okay!" His arms, latched firmly around her torso, were locked tightly as if he didn't plan on letting her go any time soon.

She had been watching the happy reunion, when she spotted him looking straight at her. Raising her eyebrows some curiously, her smile shrinking a little self consciously, the next few seconds were just a blur of movement as something collided with her.
"NALO!" the voice was loud and eager in her ear, and it was all she could do not to topple over from the force of the body flying into her. "You're alright, too, we're all okay!" Still rather taken aback by the gesture, blinking and blushing faintly, it was all she could do to put her arms around him in response. But it only took her a few moments to regain her composure, tightening her grip and then nuzzling at him enthusiastically, incredibly relieved he was okay.

"Etolie! I'm so glad you're alright..."
A faint voice called out, making Nebulos look up. Seeing who it was who had spoken, the face of the little boy lit up even more, and so did his antennae. He almost would have squealed in delight upon seeing the sudden reappearance of his teammate, but decided against it and let Niji and Etoile greet each other first. After all, what they'd done together to protect their teammates and the ship, was a remarkable action worth a million praises. He laughed joyfully when Etoile pulled him off his head and squeezed him in between himself and Niji, laughing as if he were being tickled. He felt all warm and happy when he hung there, not really caring if he was having difficulty to breathe. He was just utterly delighted to see that they were okay again.
"You guys were amazing! You saved the ship and all of us inside!"
He chirped, antennae brightening once again. He laughed once again, doing his best to hug both of them back, though such a thing was almost impossible, given that his arms were squeezed tightly against his little frame. He took a rather large intake of breath when he was being released and he felt his small feet thud upon the seat again. He saw the tip of Etoile's tail disappear behind the chairs and chuckled, ruffling his hair back in place. Then, Nebulos looked up again, his blue face being up at the grey once, which was framed by a few multicoloured curls, which had regained their regular colour once again.
"Niji!"
The little boy exclaimed, leaping up to sit atop her shoulder. He laughed happily once again, before hugging the side of her head, his bolts atop his head illuminating once again.
"I'm so glad you're awake again! You'd almost lost all of your colours, you looked real bad, we were so worried!"
The small creature explained, the light on his antennae dimming a bit as he recalled the thought of his friend's earlier condition. However, it seemed that such a thought was quickly discarded, as a joyous smile reappeared on his face once again. After all, Luminarians were not a people to dwell on the past, nor on the future. They preferred to live in the present and take each day as it comes.
"But I knew you'd pull through if you had enough rest, Niji! I just knew you would!"
The blue alien laughed once more, eyes squinting happily.

"Did you see that?!"
Excitedly, Etoile leaned back from the hug slightly and grinned into her face. His eyes were alight with joy that could only be captured from pure relief. "That was the scariest thing I've ever done in my entire life! But we managed to do it!"
As though he hadn't quite had enough yet, he hugged her again, tucking his frame so that it fit snugly against her. He was glad that she was happy.
"You're okay, right?" A touch of concern was suddenly present in his voice as he made sure.

She smiled widely in response to his happiness, and when he resumed the hug she was quick to hug him back, this time a thin metal limb from her back silently snaking around their waists, as if binding them together. When her condition was questioned, she just nodded rapidly, flashing him a reassuring smile. Sure, she wasn't pleased that she couldn't have helped more, but she was most definitely okay. No need in giving the poor kid anything else to worry about, anyway.

As his friend nodded to confirm that she was indeed alright from the incident, Etoile felt his spirits lift happily. It appeared that everyone had come out fine after all, and he was grateful.
He could feel one of her silvery tendrils snaking around them and he grinned, resting his head against her and letting out a long, relieved breath of air. "Good," he murmured quietly, and for a few long moments, he said no more. He didn't need to; he was simply enjoying the peace of the quiet around them.
"We make the best team ever." The simple statement came after a while, and it was quiet but filled with the thickest conviction. His arms tightened around her ever so slightly, happily. "All of us. We're going to be just fine."

The corners of her mouth twitched as her smile threatened to grow larger, but it wasn't visible since she had returned to nuzzling at his neck eagerly yet gently. The tendril around their waists had lengthened and coiled around them even more, and her physical arms still held him close, matching the other boy's pressure. Although unable to verbally respond, she was certainly making her current feelings on what he was saying clear. She briefly wondered when they were going to end the embrace, but so long as it wasn't any time soon she didn't mind.

Milo-Lee entered the room with the others, emerging from a closet full of tanks filled with various gasses, ranging from breathable to toxic, that she had been checking out. She was relived to find the Niji and Etoile were up and seemed to have recovered. She approached Niji, taking one hand and wrapping her tail around the rainbow-haired girl's waist in her planet's version of a friendly hug. "I'm so glad you're ok!" she said, sighing in relief. She turned to Etoile, and her smile faded a bit. "Etoile, that was one of the most reckless and crazy thing I've ever seen." She paused a minute, the a smile returned to her face, "And by far the bravest," She ruffled his hair a bit, laughing a bit.

Etoile didn't relax his grip on Nalo's waist at all, his head cradled against her while he smiled at Milo-Lee. Like Nalo, he didn't seem like he intended on letting go any time soon.
"I'm not really that brave," he murmured softly, smiling sheepishly in the dim light. His feet flashed brightly, like yellow stars sitting on his purple gums. "I was terrified the whole time." The words sent a shiver down his spine as he again realized just how stupid his act had really been. If Niji had't been there. . .
But it had worked out okay, and that's what mattered. He would be more careful in the future.

Nalo glanced at the feline alien when she heard her come over, but didn't seem too bothered by her presence. After Milo-Lee spoke, she picked up on the negative energy coming from Etoile, causing a rare noise to escape from her throat in the form of a reassuring, breathy purr, and she raised a newly created silverly hand to gently stroke the boy's hair, still cuddling him close.
(Sorry all I'm writing about is how they're hugging. XD;; )

"Of course you were!"
The smallest creature of the bunch chirped, throwing one pair of arms in the air while using the others to stabilize himself on Niji's shoulder. He uttered a joyous, whole-hearted laughed and nimbly climbed atop his rainbow friend's head, seating himself behind her tiara.
"You both were! You were out there and doing all that stuff!"
Excitedly, he lifted his arms and moved them around, demonstrating how Etoile and Niji must've looked like while moving the asteroids out of the way. This done, the small boy returned to the present scene, his smile still wide, white eyes twinkling happily. He clasped his hands together, optics turning into happy curves, antennae shining contentedly.
"You got us out of a tight bunch there!"
He then looked around, his eyes wandering across the other operatives present in the room. He felt his heart warm at the sight of them and he smiled peacefully.
"We all did. We all worked together, we're a great team!"
He said in all earnesty, antennae glowing gently.

Back in the engine room. The identical kids were still silently recovering. Five minutes passed. Then ten. The dim, pulsing light emanating from their long appendages started to blink with a slightly increased speed with each passing minute. Eventually, the short spurts of light stopped and the bioluminescent tails regained their consistent light, though still dim. The boys were now breathing, an soft audible noise, echoing through the metallic room.
Dengeki was the first to show a sign of consciousness. A twitch crept across his lips and he slowly opened his eyes, squinting slightly, as he wasn't used to the bright light of the engine room. Quickly, he observed his surroundings without moving anything but his head. First, he noticed that his slightly younger brother was laying in a sleeplike state, his head resting on Dengeki's chest. He then noticed Cyril, flying in circles excitedly, possibly anticipating the awakening of the twins.
"Hey," Dengeki could barely believe the quiet rasp that was escaping his lips. His mouth was dry and he couldn't seem to hold onto the little hydration that he had left. He tried desperately to catch Cyril's attention. "...Cyril" His throat burned and a wave of nausea hit him. The boy's species were unable to vomit, but instead excrete stomach acid from their eyes.
A burning sensation began in the back of Dengeki's azure eyes. His whole body convulsed for a split second and out of his left eye came a droplet of a bright pink liquid. It ran down his cheek and dripped onto the floor.

"We all did. We all worked together, we're a great team!"
Etoile nodded eagerly and then settled again, closing his eyes and letting out a light laugh as one of Nalo's silvery tendrils wormed through his locks of hair, slowly stroking them down toward the curve of his head. It was relaxing, as though she was slowly rolling all of his troubles away. It almost tickled him, and his antennae perked up slightly.
Anyone who was watching closely enough could have noticed the slight waving of his thin tail, and the lightening of his fingertips, subtle though they were.
"Is everyone else alright?"
He directed the quiet question at Nebulos, although it was open for anyone who might be listening to him. Although his last few minutes had been filled with happy, pleased faces, he realized that he wasn't aware of everyone quite yet. And he wanted to be sure that there were no more worries, so that the incident could be truly over.

"I think so."
The little boy replied to the other, nodding softly, making his antennae bounce gently. He looked down at Niji, though he could only see the top of her colourful hair, which he patted, smiling joyfully.
"Niji seems to be back to her old self. I haven't heard Dengeki and Unagi yet, though..."
Mentioning the twins, Nebulos looked over at the door behind which they were concealed. His antennea dimmed a bit, head tilting and mouth dropping into a small 'o'.
"Vibe said they had passed out after using their electricity in their tails on the machines. I guess it's the same as you and Niji, they're still resting right now. I went to check up on them about half an hour ago, but Cyril's watching over them now... Maybe I should get them a lollipop too."
He added, considering the fact as he put a hand to his chin, his eye wandering over to the bag of lollipops Niji was holding in her hand. After all, was there anything candy couldn't fix?

Niji gasped sharply, placing a hand over her mouth in concern over hearing the news that her friends were injured.
"Oh, no! That's terrible!" The young colorful royal, cried. "Maybe they just need rest like we do..." She said hopefully, and looked at the bag of candy in her hand. "But if it's candy they need I'm more than happy to share." She said softly with a smile, and set the candy down on a nearby table. She then turned her attention to the window across the room, and sighed, silently wondering if they were ever going to get to their destination in one piece.
