Hey there!
So a few of you have expressed interest in trying a full roleplay, where everything is typed out, instead of the style of most roleplays on here. So I figured that I would start one and see if it's a success!
For those of you who have never done so before, I'll explain it.
Instead of typing this:
"Wally: *grins* Haha, we pranked Mrs. Henderson so good!"
You write it as though you would write a novel. Using the same example as before:
"A light grin danced on Wally's face as he ducked around the corner. His voice was thick with mischievous delight. "Haha, we pranked Mrs. Henderson so good!""
And here are some general guidelines, for those who haven't tried this type of roleplay before.
Guidelines:
- you may only write the actions and dialogue of your own character. Any person has control only over their own original characters and no one else.
- chatspeak is discouraged, as you wouldn't find any of it in a published work.
- try to be as explanatory and descriptive as possible. The point of written roleplay is to create the scenes inside of our minds, and the more descriptive we are, the more fulfilling it will be.
It's not supposed to be stressful, it's just supposed to be fun.
Now, here's what I'm thinking, and you can give me opinions on this.
Since this is a brand-new roleplay, in a different style, I think we could try a new storyline! And for those of us who are new here, like me, this would give us a chance to get used to the GKND universe and to everyone's characters who are already established and friends. Or maybe anyone who wants to can create new characters for this roleplay, instead of using old ones.
I'm not sure what kind of stories you guys enjoy, but it might be fun to have a plot where a new unit has been created to take care of a threat that has been discovered on a nearby planet, and the unit has to get used to each other while trying to get along well enough to take down this threat as quickly and efficiently as possible.
How does that sound, or does anyone have any suggestions?
As for my own GKND character, I'm in the process of creating him, and I will post about him shortly. In the meanwhile, we can discuss ideas and answer questions here, so that we can get started smoothly, with no problems at all.
SO.
Any questions? Comments? Concerns?
If you're interested, let me know, so that we can get this organized and running smoothly!
