Chapter 3 - Confessions, Confessions
~**
Study Hall, 7th Hour.
Probably the laziest, obnoxious hour of all the periods in school. Wally knew that for certain. He was sitting in a desk, nearby Kuki. She was busily into her book that she had borrowed from the library last hour.
He wondered or not if he would tell her about Rachel’s diabetes.
Instead of “telling” her, he would ask her what’s up in a note! The perfect plan. Wally took out his backpack, unzipping it and passed his notebook to the counter of his desk. He licked a couple of fingertips and then traveled through doodles and notes that he took during the school year, looking for a clean sheet of paper.
Wally jotted it down, scribbling with a clicky-pencil. After that, he folded it messily, and then flicked it towards the teenaged Asian girl with a large smile. Kuki was minding her own business, by being lost in her novel.
And trust her, it was really good! (Even if the author of this fanfiction only read the very beginning of it… she’s only read ‘The Rescue’!)
When she heard a throat clear, Kuki perked her head up. She looked over at Wally who was signaling. Kuki tilted her head, and then looked down to her desk.
There was the crumpled note, lying right in front of it.
Kuki’s violet eyes lit up in excitement. She smiled, unfolding the note to read it. It was Wally’s handwriting, all right!
Dear Kuki,
I was wondering if we could…err… Listen, I heard from Nigel Uno that you found me and Rachel in one of the janitor’s closets a couple hours ago. I’m sorry that ya took it the wrong way, Kooks… I hope you can forgive me. Can you? Maybe… we could help Rachel feel better by hangin’ out at her place tonight. You think it’s a good idea?
Love, WallyKuki’s eyes grew very large, peering over the two last words.
Love, Wally.
Love.
Wally.
Oh my gosh!
She gasped, and looked back at him. The blonde Aussie smiled, waving. She smiled at him, waving back in happiness. She then replied in the note, writing back to him.
Flicking it back, Kuki felt her heart leap.
This was much more fun then sitting here day after day for an hour!
Dear Wally,
Of course I will! You’re my best friend, Wally! And… I—I’m sorry if I made Rachel upset… I sure hope that Nigel gets through to her! He really loves her, you know? And yes, I accept your invitation! We should get together and watch a movie with her. Is… she allowed to have popcorn? Did you find out anything that Rachel needed to eat? The whole diabetes Type-1 thing seems a bit complicated to me a bit…
L-Love… Kuki! She then closed it up, and flicked it to Wally’s desk. Kuki breathed, blushing lightly. Her fingers fiddled, wondering what Wally would think of her note-passing.
In fact, he loved it! He immediately wrote back to her.
Dear Kuki,
Not sure! I’ve heard of these diabetes drinks on the ‘tube called ‘Boost – Glucose Control’ or something cruddy like that. It sounds pretty fancy… bleh! … But, it’s chocolate… Not that a fan of chocolate, but it’s pretty tasty, even for a drink! Mm…I could go for a frosty Yahoo right ‘bout now. A—Anyway! Yeah! I think that’s a great idea, Kooks. You’re so smart. I think it’d be nice to cheer Rachel up. I hope she didn’t get the wrong idea… but Nigel told me before I came in here that Rachel ran off—just like that! Poof!
Love, WallyThen he flicked the note back to her.
Kuki opened the note, and gasped. A hand was over her mouth, reading what Wally wrote. She looked out the window, seeing it was pouring out. It was pretty windy, but it seemed to be calming down a bit.
The temperature outside was freezing, nearly. It was in the middle of April, too. Ah, well… as they say, ‘April Showers bring May Flowers’.
She was starting to really worry about Rachel… skipping the two last hours of class on a Friday. Wouldn’t she get detention tomorrow? But Rachel wouldn’t mind… she did have a love for school! Especially English, wanting to become an author and work hard in publishing her own ideas for fairytales.
Kuki smiled dreamily, and got an idea in her little head.
Rachel would be a princess, and Nigel would be her prince.
The two fit so perfectly together—they just clicked like that!
“Pssst!”
The girl jerked her head out of her dreamland, and back into reality. She looked at Wally, who signaled her to write to him back on what she thought of Rachel running away.
“Oh!” Kuki gasped. She nodded, getting right on it!
Dear Wally,
I had no idea! I-I hope Rachel’s alright! When I read over your note, I got so worried! I hope that Nigel will finally tell her how he really feels about her, even with diabetes… I’m sure he will! I know he will. I’m pretty sure you feel the same way too, Wally! We both will support him to get the girl! Hehe… sorry, I-I guess I’m a little too excited right now. How about after school we head over to Rachel’s place and see what’s up with her? Want to?
Love, Kuki
P.S. --- Wally… I—I just wanted to ask you… sending the “love” at the end; it’s very sweet of you. Thank you! I love you too! She then flicked it over towards him. He read, writing back.
Dear Kuki,
Sure thing, mate! Rachel could really have some fun with us. I guess we’ll be letting her chose the movie, huh? Anyway… I…uh… Kuki, there’s somethin’ that I just gotta say to you! I love you too! A whole lot… and I was wondering…well… would you like to be my girlfriend?
… Please?
Love, Wally.
P.S. --- Yes! I did mean it, Kooks. I wouldn’t lie to you!His face was flushed with red, and then flicked the note to her desk. He smiled gently, and winked to her. Kuki felt her cheeks grew hot, and peeked over the note.
Her heart was nearly pumping right out of her chest! She felt so alive! So well! So… so in love with Wally!
Without writing a word, she took a glance at him. Wally looked at her, feeling a little nervous; his cheeks still blushing.
“YES!!!” Kuki screamed, and then leaped from her chair to his own. She hugged Wally so tightly, smiling so widely and never let him go.
“Ms. Sanban! Mr. Beetles!”
Kuki and Wally gasped, looking up. Their heads turned, knowing the voice… so familiar, so… manly-like-ish-but-she-sounded-like-a-woman.
Mrs. Hart, the Study Hall teacher was standing there in front of the two. She was a big woman, but she was also strict with the students who were goofing off, acting stupid or having an excited outburst that would rile up other students who were studying or reading.
The large teacher pointed a finger towards the backdoor that led into the 2nd floor hallway, and across from it was The Office, and the principal’s office, too.
“Office. Now. No arguments, Mr. Beetles and Ms. Sanban.” said Mrs. Hart.
“B-but—” Wally stammered, until the teacher cut him off.
“Go on, I said no arguing with me! Get your butt in there! You too, Ms. Saban.”
Kuki nodded, taking her bag over her shoulder. She started to walk off to the door, and waited for Wally to catch up. Muttering under his breath of secret swear words, the tall Australian boy picked up his backpack over both of his shoulders and walked off with Kuki.
They heard the students. Either laughing or “A’www” ing at the sight of Kuki Sanban and Wallabee Beetles.
~**
The two waited, sitting in chairs in the office. They sighed, couldn’t help but stop thinking about each other—and taking their eyes off of the clock.
It was now near the end of 8th period. At least in Health for the rest of the week they were watching a movie called ‘Super-Size Me’ about a guy eating McDonald’s over an entire month, then to lose weight.
Yet, they already learned of having a healthy body and eating yummy fruits!
But enough of that…
Wally was sitting in the right seat, while Kuki was in the left. They couldn’t help but smile, taking a glance at each other. They blushed, rubbing their arms.
But in pure happiness.
“Hey…Wally?” Kuki asked in a whisper.
“Yeah?”
Kuki scooted against him, blushing more. “Do… do you r-really want me to be your… your girlfriend?”
Wally grinned, wrapping an arm around her. “’Ey… Ah said that Ah’ did, didn’t Ah?” he said, in his Australian accent. Kuki smiled widely towards his reply.
“…W—Wally…”
“Kuki… Ah love ya. Ah love ya very much. . . And Ah… Ah wanna spend the rest of my life with you. If… that’s okay with you, Ah’ mean…”
“W-w-with… Me?” Kuki’s cheeks flushed crimson, smiling with brightness and cheer. Wally beamed, squeezing his new girlfriend’s hand.
They were officially a couple now!
“Yes… with you, Kuki Sanban.” Wally whispered, nodding his head. Kuki went in, leaning her face towards his. Wally grinned.
This was going to be an awesome moment!
The two pressed their lips together, sharing this precious moment. It was a keeper! A total one. Their lips touched, softly grazing lovingly.
… Just then, the 3 o’clock bell rang…
“Alrighty, kids! You can go now.” said the secretary.
They were hitting it off tremendously, they couldn’t break it now! Instead of replying to the secretary like a normal student would, Wally just waved it off with his hand. Kuki was sitting there, shyly kissing his lips without any movement at all. She had her hands placed nicely in her lap, gracefully grazing the Aussie’s yummy lips. And Wally loved it!
After for a few moments, the two finally pulled away. Wally and Kuki were blushing—like mad!
“H-hey, Mrs. Book? When’s the cruddy bell supposed ‘ta ring again?” Wally asked, panting. He was busily rubbing the back of his head, having his first kiss flash through his mind.
The old secretary face-palmed, shaking her head in disbelief. “Ugh… teenagers.” She muttered to herself, and sighed. Her shoulders relaxed before taking a cold, hard look at the two love-birds.
“The bell rang about five minutes ago. You’re free to leave at any time.” Mrs. Book said.
“R-r-right!” Kuki stammered, blushing red. She handled her bag over her shoulder, grabbing Wally’s hand. “C’mon Wally, we better go!”
“Right.” Wally nodded, and headed out the door. “See ya next week!”
The two of them rushed down the stairs, and out the doors of the high school. Together, they were on their way to Rachel’s house.
~**
After school, around 4:00 PM, Nigel was walking around the outside-markets celebrating for springtime. The rain had gone away, leaving nothing but puddles around the streets on concrete of the sidewalks. He was trying to find Rachel a present to make her feel a bit better… and he just knew the thing!
White gardenias, Rachel’s favorite flowers in the entire universe! Probably the only flower she liked. He passed by all the small sales on fruits, but then came to a stop.
He realized.
Rachel loved apples! He would decide to buy her a few apples, too.
“Excuse me?” Nigel asked a worker, who was putting up some jars of jam on the nearby shelves. “Hello? I was wondering if I could buy a couple of apples.”
“Be right with you!” said the teenaged worker. Nigel tilted his head, having to hear his voice before. It was quite familiar!
The teenager turned around, revealing himself. Nigel jumped back.
“Hoagie?!” The Brit cried, shocked. The auburn-haired boy grinned, showing his lucky dimples.
“Hey, dude! What’s up?” Hoagie said.
“What—how in the—why are you here?” Nigel asked his bundle of questions.
“I work here, dude.” replied Hoagie with a silly grin.
“Wha? But I thought you worked with Abby at the hospital?” Nigel said, perking his head. His friend nodded.
“Correct, my friend. During the nights on the weekends and in the summer—but I also work here.” Hoagie showed off his apron which was milk-white; not a stain on it. “Well then… what did you say you needed?”
“An apple.” Nigel grinned. “Also, could you point out to where the white gardenias are? That would be a really big help.”
“Sure thing!” said Hoagie, pointing out the ripest and richest red apples were. He poked his hand into the large container, pulling out a round, juicy-looking one. He then placed it into Nigel’s palm.
“White gardenias…huh.” The thin teen and the Brit went around the other shops, looking at all the flowers.
“Hey Nigel, found it!”
Nigel raced to the spot, seeing so many white gardenias in one container. “Oh, wow…” he murmured, in amazement.
“One bouquet would do.” Nigel immediately pulled out his wallet, preparing to purchase the flowers and apple.
Hoagie laughed, and held out both hands. “No, dude… this one’s on the house.”
“Are you sure? You could get fired for this.” Nigel said uneasily, looking around. Hoagie rolled his eyes behind his glasses, and pushed Nigel away.
“Go on! Go have fun on your hot date!”
Nigel’s cheeks burnt red, walking off with a shake of his head. He was then going to go home and straighten up until he would visit Rachel.
~**
“Mate, he has understood completely.” Wally said.
“I know you’ll come through to him, Rachel… I know you need some alone time, but… maybe he can come over in a while?” asked Kuki.
Kuki and Wally were standing outside of Rachel’s upstairs bathroom. She was in the bathroom, after a long, hot shower. She was combing out the tangles in her wavy, thick blonde hair.
“Okay.” She said finally. Rachel took one glance in the mirror, and then looked down at herself. She wore a fuzzy light-purple bathrobe and orange rainbow monkey slippers.
When she turned around, she started to massage her shoulders a bit, trying to push away the feeling of letting Kuki and Wally on in more secrets.
Yet… secrets don’t make friends. And Rachel knew that. She closed her eyes, and flashed so many memories into her mind. The beatings, the slashes… her true passion of writing, and now… her diabetes. But she has told them the last secret that was mentioned.
Rachel opened the door, letting the steam pour out from the bathroom. She smiled, and nodded towards her friends.
“I wasn’t thinking… giving him anytime to talk with me earlier… I really screwed up.” She pushed back a few bangs of hair, and sighed. “He must think I’m a real foolish dork, huh?”
Kuki smiled brightly at her friend. “I don’t think Nigel thinks that at all! I know he doesn’t, Rachel.”
“Ya never lose confidence in your English homework. Ah’ still won’t believe that ya won’t be losing confidence in your soul mate, mate.” Wally shrugged his shoulders.
English…literature… Alright, here I go!
Rachel breathed. “Guys… would it be alright if I were to show you something?”
Kuki and Wally smiled.
“Go ahead, Rach!” Wally said.
“What is it?” Kuki asked curiously.
Together they followed their friend into her bedroom. Rachel kneeled down on her knees, and went underneath her bed.
“N—need any help?”
“No, I got it. But thank you, Kuki!”
Rachel then pulled out a stash of notebooks. “Phew…”
Wally raised an eyebrow, sitting on the ground. “What’cha got there, mate?”
Rachel’s cheeks flamed, and pushed a couple notebooks towards them. “I…well, I…” Kuki picked one up, and opened it. She began reading, with her eyes everywhere on the pages.
“Oh… oh my goodness!” she gasped. Her eyes began to sparkle with mush.
“What? Kooks, what’s the matter?”
She shared the notebook with him, and together—they started to read. Just like that. Rachel’s eyes drooped, and settled the other notebooks back underneath her bed.
“Oh, Rachel… this is so lovely!” Kuki complimented, looking up at her.
“…Fairytales?” Wally gagged for a moment, and then dropped his head. “Ugh… no offence Rachel, but don’t ya have anything else than romance-princessy stuff?” Kuki didn’t even bother to nudge her boyfriend’s shoulder; she was off in her own little world in Rachel’s stories.
Rachel smiled. “Dragons.” She said. “Gryphons, basilisks… anything you want, Wally!”
Wally stared.
“…Show me.” He demanded in a whisper.
Kuki then nudged him. “Wally, please…” she urged. Wally rubbed his shoulder with a grin, and wrapped his arm around her. “Hey, relax! I’m just playin’, Kuki.”
“She m-may not have…well, those in store just yet.” Kuki said, and then winked at Rachel.
The blonde girl rubbed her arm, avoiding eye-contact.
“Are you going to show Nigel these?” said Kuki.
Rachel shook her head, becoming so embarrassed. “No—no, I couldn’t!” she resisted. “…It’s too mortifying, Kuki… Plus, what would he think of me when I see him as a prince in my stories?”
“He would be so honored!” Kuki cried out. “Oh, I—I even bet he would be so romantic with you after he read one single paragraph!”
Wally coughed slightly, rubbing his hair. “Uh…y-yeah… (ahem) Y-ya know, where are the DVDs again, Rachel? Ah wanna see what we’re gonna watch tonight.”
“Oh!” Rachel stood up, and directed him to a nearby shelf of CDs and DVDs together. “Go ahead and take a look. I have plenty. Whichever one you guys would like to watch is fine by me!” she said.
“Let’s see…” Kuki started to skim a few movie titles with her index finger. “Princess, Nature of the Beast, Everything You Want, Pizza My Heart…”
“Pizza?” Wally’s head shot up. Kuki giggled, taking the DVD of ‘Pizza My Heart’ from the shelf. “Hey, can we watch this one?”
“Of course. I think you two will really like it.” Rachel grinned. She always knew that Kuki and Wally were totally ‘Romeo & Juilet’.
“Yeah, okay mate… but mind if we have some pizza ta’ go along with this movie? Ah’m starvin’!” Wally stroked his tummy, hearing it growl. He moaned.
“Sounds like a plan.” Rachel said. I’ll get the pizza started while you and Kuki play in the movie. Deal?”
“Deal.”
~**
The pizza was nearly half-way done cooking in the oven, and the movie was starting mid-way out of the beginning. Kuki and Wally were in the living room, cuddling up together. They were focused on watching the movie.
Rachel was in the kitchen, looking in the fridge for a healthy drink of Glucose. She popped it out, and strapped off the cap. She took small sips, and sighed.
Frosty, chocolately, and great for diabetics… at least, that’s what she thought. It had a nice amount of sugar and calories, too. Yet it was that time again to take the insulin.
“Drat…” she cursed to herself, and then took out the pizza for Kuki and Wally. “Hey, guys! I’ll be upstairs for a moment. Need to take the you-know-what.” She then set out the pizza-cutter and a few paper plates and napkins for her guests. “Also, there are sodas in the fridge.”
“Go ahead, Rachel!” Wally waved it off. He then smelt the delicious scent of the pizza. “Mm… Ah’ smell pepperoni!”
“I can taste the cheese already.” Kuki giggled.
“But Ah’ bet it isn’t better than Mr. Melloni, that’s for sure.” Wally grinned. He hopped out of the couch with Kuki, leading her into the kitchen/dining room by the hand. Together, they dug in.
~**
Rachel was in the middle of poking the needle into her arm, taking the insulin. She felt a cool breeze from her opened window, and smiled to herself.
It was going to rain again, but she didn’t care. She often loved to listen to the rain. Rachel then went to her dresser, getting out her pajamas to wear.
Hopefully Kuki and Wally wouldn’t mind…
Rachel untied her robe, letting to fall to the floor. She then rubbed a hand over her scarred right shoulder, sighing.
Her back was scarred with three long, open gashes from when she was in her early childhood. Around Numbuh 363’s age, but before he went to Maple Haven’s mental hospital.
Just like his mother…
Rachel was so grateful to have her father and Nigel after all these years. Her mother had put her through a tortured, living hell. Harvey was only four at the time, watching his mother put down ferocious beatings on her daughter. He learned from it. He liked it.
He admired it.
Which he had obtained the habit of people not being able to touch him, or actually wanting to kill Nigel because of his crush on Rachel, or in the Galactic Force. (KND/TND/AND universe)
Rachel shook off the negative thoughts. She then put on her tank-top shirt and sweatpants; her pair of PJs. Looking over out her window, she gasped.
Sitting there was a white gardenia, on the windowsill. Rachel got up, walking over to it. Smiling, she took it into her hands, twisting the stem around.
All of the bad memories went away in an instant.
She bent her head, smelling it. Rachel sighed, closing her eyes.
“I wonder how this got here…” she asked herself.
“There’s plenty more, I could always share them with you!” said a voice outside.
Her eyes shot open, and Rachel stared completely out of the window in a straight line. Nigel was sitting on a branch in her tree in the backyard. He smiled, holding up an apple in his left palm, and the bouquet of white gardenias in the other.
“Hello, Rachel.” He whispered out.
The rain sprinkled, and the wind began to blow. Nigel began laughing, sitting there in the rain.
“May I come in?”
Rachel fiddled, hurrying around the room. She entered the bathroom, taking a towel for Nigel to dry himself off. When she was busily doing that, Nigel went bottom first into the window.
…. Then again, his butt was REALLY big, so it would maybe take a while for him to get through.
“Alright Tiger,” Rachel said, coming into the room. “I got you a tow—oh…oh my…”
Her eyes were now fully focused on Nigel’s large behind. “Ugh! Mm! Rachel—c-could you possibly help me?” His voice was mumbling from the outside.
“…Oh! Hold on, Nigel!” Rachel called out, shaking out of her trance from his butt.
Instead of in their childhood of the Kids Next Door, when Lizzie was always bickering of his butt. But Rachel on the other-hand… thought it was adorable. Lizzie must have had bad tastes in butts, Rachel had always thought.
She pulled his legs, having him plop into her room. Nigel landed, and Rachel went down with him. She was on top, when he was on bottom. Her cheeks were streaked with red, and coughed lightly.
“I..I-I-I’m sorry.” She stammered, getting off of him. Nigel’s cheeks also hinted with red, and rubbed the back of his brown hair.
“N-no, it’s quite alright, Rachel.” He said honestly, brushing off the imaginary dust from his coat. Rachel looked at him.
He was wearing a black, clean shirt with a red tie, gray pants and a light-brown coat with the exact color of his boots. He looked awfully handsome… and when his hair was washed across his face, he looked so gorgeous to Rachel! No real men sparkled.
Nigel Uno was a real man.
Try that one on, Edward Cullen.
“My, are you going on a date?” Rachel finally blurted out, unable to stop from asking her question.
Nigel smiled, and held out the flowers to her. “Please… will you forgive me for pushing you today? Rachel, I was only trying to help you. I wanted… I wanted to… Love you.”
Rachel’s cheeks flared with red, taking the flowers. “Oh Tiger…” she whispered, calling him by his nickname. “Of course I forgive you… I’m sorry for going off on you like I did, too.”
“And I forgive you,” Nigel said, taking the lone gardenia from her and breaking it from its stem. He then placed it into her the corner of her hair, near her ear. He drawn away, and smiled widely at it.
She looked lovely with flowers in her hair. Especially with a white gardenia, or a special red flower that reminded her of him.
“…Nigel, I’m sorry for not letting you understand me.” Rachel whispered. “I really did come to think that you would… well, reject me.”
“Rachel.” The Brit whispered sternly, placing both hands on her shoulders. “I would never reject you… I wouldn’t ever. Rachel, you have diabetes. And I’m going to stick by you no matter how hard you try to knock me down.”
The blonde girl truly felt like her heart was going to melt.
He truly did care about her—more than any other person in the entire universe… well, next to Zinc; but he is her brother after all. Her true brother.
“You were in fear, Rachel. The fear had overwhelmed you. Causing deadly hallucinations.”
He bent down, whispering in her ear—close enough to kiss it.
“Let me bring an end to it. All of it. I want to be the one to bring you happiness. I want to be the one who will always be with you… I want to be the true love of your life.”
“…Nigel…”
He started down to nuzzle her neck, placing small kisses on it. He then pulled away, and looked at her. She was so kind, compassionate, yet stern, rational… He was very strict, gentle, paranoid and charming.
He thought of her as Buttercup, and she thought of him as Westley.
It was all in the soul—not to appearance.
Nigel sat down on her bed, as Rachel gripped the bouquet of flowers. He smiled lovingly—and went in.
There, he kissed her. She kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her, stroking her back. Rachel winced, and pulled away. Nigel blinked.
“I… I’m sorry,” he apologized. “I guess I got myself a little too carried away.” Rachel blushed.
“No.. I-I liked it. I liked it a lot. It’s just that…” She tilted her head, until Nigel reached out and tipped her chin back to him.
“Just what?”
Rachel turned his back to him, revealing her own flesh. The scars traced down her back, and she shuddered. “I… I didn’t want to tell you so soon.” She said.
She then felt Nigel’s fingers trace down her scars, causing Rachel to gasp in fright.
“…Rachel… who—who did this?” he demanded.
She shut her eyes tightly, replying to him. “Mother.”
“…Your mother did this to you.” Nigel said calmly, and the closed his eyes. He leaned near her, kissing the scars. He stroked her back longingly and lovingly. He drew back, and sighed. Rachel dropped back her nightshirt into place.
He smiled, squeezing her hand. “We’ll visit Ynda first thing.” He assured her. Rachel shook her head in refusal.
“No… I don’t need anyone else but you to heal me, Nigel.” She said, placing her hands on his chest with a kind smile. Nigel hugged her tightly, finally being able to smell her wonderful hair. It was very shiny, after a shower. And smelled like French-Vanilla! He sniffed it long, inhaling to wondrous smell.
“… I think I’ve finally come to understand.” Rachel said, lifting her head from his chest.
“About what?” Nigel smiled.
“That I need time to forgive others—in just a matter of hours.”
“Agreed.”
Rachel saw that she had left her needle and insulin out. Nigel chuckled.
“Don’t worry,” he reassured her. “We’ll get it later.” She nodded.
Nigel petted her hair, telling Rachel that he would support her in everyway to help her through her diabetic situation. Heck, he would run throughout the entire country to earn money for her cause if he wanted to! And you know what? He would do it, guarantee!
They continued to be resting in each other’s arms, until Kuki and Wally poked their heads in.
“Oh! I… I’m sorry, Rachel…” Kuki apologized. “We were just checking up on you…”
“What’s up, Nig?” Wally asked with a grin.
“Nothing much… but we’ll be willing to join you for lunch tomorrow… say, at Noon?” Umberto’s Pizza was definitely the place for a double date… and more pizza Wally! Whoo!
“Okay!” Kuki grinned. “I’m sure Wally would like that. R-right, Wally?” She turned her head to him, and saw that he was off thinking of ‘4 x 4 = Pizza’ probably… Yeah.
“Mm… Pizza. It’s a deal, mates!”
Yes! He has accepted.
And so, the four friends made plans for the weekend together. Hopefully if Hoagie and Abby didn’t spend too much working over time at the hospital helping out Mr. Lincoln, they could totally join on in the fun.
A little while after, Kuki and Wally said their goodbyes, going home. Nigel stayed longer with Rachel, until her father came home from a late night of working with his boss.
He left from going through the window, and stood on the roof, looking back at Rachel. She was sitting on the window sill, smiling at him.
“I suppose I’ll be seeing you tomorrow?” Nigel said. Rachel nodded.
“Yes. I suppose so.”
Nigel dipped his head, kissing her lightly on the lips. Rachel’s hands caressed his face, having her long, white sleeves from her robe tickle against his pale skin. His brown hair lit up in the moonlight. The two shared the lighting-to-passionate goodnight kiss for just a few more moments.
Wanting to have this kiss last forever, they finally broke-away. Nigel kissed her lips very lightly again, and then pulled away.
“Goodnight, my princess.” He whispered.
Rachel felt her cheeks grow hot, and then ran her fingers through his hair. Her smile was so gentle towards him.
“Goodnight, my prince.” With that, Nigel kissed her hand.
“And please… don’t let the diabetes get to you anymore, alright?” he said. Rachel smiled widely, nodded.
“That’s my girl.”
He then waved, and disappeared into the branches of her tree. He slid down, and then ran off into the night.
If only he had a steed… Rachel thought to herself, giggling.
Zincy would be so perfect!Sighing, the blonde girl slid back into her room, and lied down onto her bed. Her heart was thumping loudly, like an eleventy-billion suns rushing throughout her body. She then took one look at the needle and insulin—and shut it into her nightstand’s drawer.
She would take Nigel’s advice—heck, pretty much any of his advice. She would use it when she really needed it. And right now, she didn’t.
Rachel knew now that she had no time to worry about hiding in fear anymore. She had her friends, her father, and now—Nigel Uno.
The One and Only Nigel Uno.
The girl stretched, letting her bathrobe fall to the end of the bed. Rachel rested underneath her covers, feeling how soft the sheets were against her scars. She hadn’t to worry now.
No need to worry.
~**
WHOOOO, finally. xDDD This took a couple of days, but I finally got to it! I hope it isn't...well... too corny for an ending. ^^; I know having diabetes is NOT a happy ending, but I did want a happy ending for Rachel.
And finally, all of her dreams will come true! All thanks to Nigel Uno. He's such a sweetie of the heart. x3 That's why I love Nigel so much!!!
There will also be an epilogue soon, not too short, not too long... I hope it will turn out okay. ^^
