"Y-Yeah, I get it! Dengeki, blue!"
When Dengeki heard Etoiles enthusiastic words, he swiftly brought his index finger to his lips and whispered. "You gotta keep it a secret though, kay?" He listened intently as Etoile went on. After hearing about Etoile's telekinetic powers, Dengeki realized that this was the first time he had ever met someone with such ability. He wondered to himself what it would be like to be able to move things without touching them. It seemed like a gift, more than a simple characteristic of a race.
"What can you do?"
Dengeki thought for a second. How could he possibly show off his abilities without hurting someone around him. Looking around, he searched for the perfect subject that would fall victim to his power. Then it hit him. He turned back to his brother, grabbed his arm, and pulled. Unagi lunged to the side, releasing his hold on Vibe. He stumbled to catch his balance. "What?"
Dengeki smiled his chesire smile, yet again. "We have to do a demonstration." Knowingly, Unagi mirrored the smile, and then turned to Etoile. "I'm Unagi, if you haven't figured it out yet. And you're Etoile! It's like we already know each other now" He went on, changing the subject. "So you want to see what we can do? Well," He touched the tip of his tail to Dengeki's cheek. Without any change in his friendly expression, a bright cyan light erupted from his tail, electrocuting his twin. Dengeki convulsed for a few seconds and fell to the ground.
As his spasms subsided, the smug grin on Unagi's face twisted into a look of horror. "I've killed him!" He cried, dropping to his knees to clutch Dengeki's lifeless body. "I knew I had gone too far this time!!! I knew he couldn't handle it!!!" Sobbing deeply into his brother's shoulder, he snuck a glance at Etoile to see if their scare tactic had worked.
After the fear had set into the atmospere, Unagi's sobs turned to chuckles. And the chuckles turned into laughs, and pretty soon Dengeki joined in, sitting up and stretching. They stood up, noting the expression on Etoiles face. "You didn't think I really killed him, did you?" The melodic tone had returned to Unagi's voice. Dengeki cut in. "That was a demonstration of two things we can do. Number one, we can emit high frequencies of electric currents through our tails,"
"And, we can withstand high voltages of electricity" Unagi finished with a slight chuckle. His tail moved so that it brushed the side of Etoile's cheek. "But don't worry, our tails are perfectly harmless when we want them to be."
~ Oh! And here's the twins' descriptions because I never posted them. XD
Names: Dengeki and Unagi
Numbuhs: X*2(pronounced X star squared) and X*3, respectively.
Gender: Male
Age: 19 on their planet, approximately 11 ½ in Earth years.
Height: Around 6ft tall.
Planet: Xanaduatama (Zan-ah-doo-at-uh-ma)
Species: Xanaduataman
Rank: Hand to Hand Combat Officers (Though they occasionally have to do reconnaissance in unidentified large bodies of liquid)
Personality: Generally, the twins both appear to be carefree and energetic. They mostly do everything just for fun. Easily bored, they're always looking for new ways to entertain themselves, whether it be pulling some practical joke or flirting with a fellow operative. They are known for their romantics and can charm just about any female(and a few males).
The differences between the twins are definitely moreso in their personalities than physical appearance. Dengeki is more outspoken and easily angered, while it takes Unagi a bit more to push him to his limit (either that or a rude person. He HATES rudeness) . Though Dengeki has his short temper, he has proven to be shyer about the ones he truly loves, unlike his twin who is prone to hugging and clinging on to his (unofficial?) girlfriend.
Abilities Well, let’s see. They’re super fast swimmers. They can get to over 300 mph at top speed. They also have the ability to breath in any type of liquid substance, although they can’t breath air or any gases(which is why they have cuffs around their necks that convert air into a breathable substance) They also have cuffs that they put their ‘feet’ in to allow them to walk on land, because their feet are actually long, webbed fins(like Harry Potter’s gilliweed fins! xD) Their tails can emit a very intense and painful electric shock to anything they touch. When submerged, they can also use their tails to thrust waves of electricity through the water.

Even more curious, Nebulos leaned forwards in order to have a better look as to what she was doing. He had been momentarily surprised when the girl had suddenly grown a few extra limbs from her back, an ability Nebulos had not witnessed before. Intruiged, he tilted his head a bit, his white bangs falling to the side as he did. He blinked for a minute, before his eyes squinted pleasantly. He smiled and uttered a mental chuckle. It seemed like he was no longer the only one from this team who had more than just one set of arms.
The small boy leaned back again once Nalo had finished writing and held up the notebook for him and Niji to see. His antennea brightened a bit, casting their light upon the sheet of paper, which had the simple sentence "I write" upon it in a neat handwriting. The message couldn't be more obvious, especially since she had just given them a demonstration. Nebulos joyfully closed his eyes momentarily, nodding in understanding. He opened his mouth to say something, but decided against it when he saw the metallic girl return to her notebook, adding another word to it. Interested, he leaned forth again. He had barely done so when Nalo already held up the booklet once more, which now had the word "Also..." added to it.
I took him but a second to comprehend what she meant by writing this, when he caught her stirring. His eyes moved from the notebook to Nalo herself, seeing she had levitated herself a few inches higher, her arm slowly coming near him. It wasn't a threatning gesture, so Nebulos kept quiet and sat still, though his eyes had enlarged in anticipation, feeling like something unusual was about to happen. The thin end of her arm touched his cheek, making a soft, gentle thudding once the contact was made. She didn't feel very cold, like he had expected her to be. Given, she felt colder than he, but surely not as cold as Vibe was. The blue alien blinked a few times, wondering what she was doing. He didn't know if he was supposed to be feeling anything as she touched him.
He looked down again, seeing how her extra appendages were busy writing something on the notepad. He couldn't see what exactly she was writing, but the waiting didn't last for a long time. She removed her arm from his cheek, the other arms still working their way across the paper. Tilting his head once more, his antenena flickered softly in curiosity. He was keen to find out what exactly she'd done. And thus, once finished, Nalo turned the booklet around and held it to their eye-level. Nebulos leaned forwards again, eager to see what she'd written, but surprise was the thing that befell him first. There, written flawlessly, were curly, graceful runes he knew remarkably well. His eyes enlarged, the bolts atop his head brightning in awe. In his bafflment, he leaned towards the notebook so much, he nearly toppled off Niji's head, if it hadn't been for her crown which he was able to hold onto at the last second. Once steadied, the boy looked at Nalo in awe, almost forgetting to actually read what she had written down in the first place.
"Wow..."
he spoke softly, which endorsed his clear state of surprise. Although Nalo had just explained how she was able to do this, he was still very impressed by it, as if she'd just pulled a rabbit out of a hat. Her lack of speech surely made up for her other abilities.
"That is so cool!"
The small boy exclaimed, the antennea upon his head brightning once more, this time in enthusiasm. Almost toppling off the princess's head again, he held tightly onto her tiara, his twinkling eyes wandering from Nalo to the notepad and back again.
"And it's written without mistakes and everything!"
He said, as if he were pointing out to Nalo that she had this ability without realizing it. His kiddy-smile widened, his pale eyes squinting joyfully once again. The expression on his blue features softened affectionately when his gaze fell onto the writings on the paper, as if the Luminarian runes were smiling up at him and waving all the way from planet Lumin itself. It was like he was sent a greeting from home, even though the words themselves were rather scientific. He felt warm and happy when he looked at them and it made him quite content.
"Thank you."
He said, smiling kindly at Nalo once again, bestowing his gratitude for explaining her communication methods, as well as giving him the happy memory from his homeplanet.

All throughout Nebulos's reactions to her gestures, Nalo had remained largely emotionless in her physical responses, but when he expressed his joy and thanked her, she couldn't help but let a huge smile spread out on her face, since she could see the positive effect she seemed to be having on the small boy. Withdrawing all of her extra limbs except one, which she used to reorganise the factfile in her possession, she looked up at Nebulos with the gentle expression once more, not entirely sure what she should be doing now after that. So instead she looked down at the girl called Niji, curious about her. She knew so little about the people surrounding her, and she was already beginning to wonder when the oppurtunity to get to know them further would arise.

Milo-Lee turned her attention to the rainbow haired girl who had just entered. From the way she talked with Nebulos, it was clear they had already met. She heard her introduce herself as as a princess and her head snapped around, suddenly interested. Before she couls say anything, Nebulos had introduced her and Finnick.
"Well is that so? Wow, we have something in common already, Milo-Lee."
"Seems so," she said brightly, but she was hoping Niji wasn't like her sister, who was such a brat she could hardly stand it. Niji, however, seemed much kinder, and she was sure they'd get along. Nebulos had began talking to Nalo, and Finnick was talking to Niji, so she began looking around the room. She did notice a small green alien sitting by herself, but everyone else was talking in small groups. She was just thinking of going to talk to someone else when she heard the yelling.
"I've killed him! I knew I had gone too far this time!!! I knew he couldn't handle it!!!"
He eyes widened in horror as she saw the twins who had stirred up trouble earlier, one limp in the other's arms. A couple seconds later one began chuckling, and the other sprung back to life. Boys... she sighed a little. She ran her paw though her hair and turned back to the others. Nalo had just handed Nebulos a piece of paper, and who was reading it with huge eyes.
"Wow... That is so cool! And it's written without mistakes and everything!"
She leaned over his shoulder, reading the words "I write" and "Also" written on the page along with some markings she guessed made since to Nebulos. She turned to Nalo, interested, "Y-you... how did you...?" She thingyed her head to the side, her long gold hair swinging off her shoulders. She narrowed her eyes, searching Nalo's eyes for an answer.

"Y-you... how did you...?" Nalo heard the questioning from close by, and turned to face the feline alien. It took her a few moments to realise what she was referring to, since she wasn't aware the girl had any idea as to exactly what was going on. Nalo looked down at her writing again, then pulled the pen out once more and scrawled something in plain English, soon presenting it to Milo-Lee.
"I can't explain how. I just do."
was all she had written. Either she didn't want to explain, or she really couldn't, but Nalo had a distaste for the searching stare the tomboy princess had given her. It wasn't a gaze she liked to be on the recieving end of; it felt too intrusive, too nosy somehow. And it was usually accompanied by a difficult question.
She was also getting a negative vibe from Milo-Lee, and felt like the stare was accusing her of something. Since Nalo read deeply into body language, any deceptive gestures could make her uncomfortable, especially if she could see through them. Just because she could understand the spoken words of those around her didn't mean they were the only things she observed. It was very helpful for her to make her own body language clear if she could see how she percieved that of other peoples'.

Milo-Lee took the paper from Nalo, suprised to see such a short message. Upon reading it, she felt like she had crossed a line. She didn't want to be rude, and she hadn't thought about it being something she didn't know or want to talk about. She grit her teeth and held back tears as she added "be less demanding" to her growing list of things she needed to work on, all of which seemed to come back to being nicer to people. She was not used to talking to people, her brothers were her only true friends... She glaced at Finnick, talking was so easy for him. He was willing to talk to her, which was more that was. He seemed dead-set on making sure she had friends, and she was blowing it.
She looked back at Nalo, eyes still watering, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, I just..." Great, she was really crying now. She broke off with a sob. She had only been crying a second when she felt someone's arm around her. Somehow, she knew it was Finnick. She heard him say, "She's having a hard time adjusting, I'm sorry," How did he know that? An why was he sorry? Normally, a comment like that would of made her mad, but right now, somehow, it helped. "I... swear I didn't mean to be nosy..." Somehow, she couldn't stop the next words that came from her mouth, "I just want... friends,"

Wow, someday, I'm gonna make a charater who's not mental XD I'm so mean to them -.-'

Completely bewildered as to how her response had stirred such a reaction, Nalo just stood and stared at Milo-Lee as hard as she could without being really rude, and actually drifted back away from the girl a little. She carefully took the piece of paper with the writing on it back, returning it to the factfile, still looking at the girl carefully. She wasn't sure how to respond, nor was she planning on making a response. Her first impression of this princess hadn't been a particularly good one, but it wasn't like she hated her or anything.

[[ What? NumbuhPi, are you sure? You're not doing bad at all, and it's going to get more fun when they go on the mission!
I mean, I can't force you, but . . . are you absolutely sure? ]]

(Aw, you're not messing up at all, you're doing a great job... ) Niji looked upon the girl with a sympathizing smile, and tried to offer some comfort by giving her a small hug and patting her gently on the back "There, there, it's alright. Don't cry..." She whispered softly, "Cheer up, this base may look frightening and intimidating but it's quite easy to make friends here, most operatives are generally very friendly." She said, "...except maybe in the mornings." She amended, "Some people just aren't morning people, y'know?" She chuckled lightly hoping her little joke would earn a smile from her new feline friend. "Hey, I know, what might cheer you up..." She paused to dig into her skirt pocket to pull out what seemed to be an oddly shaped orange and blue lollipop with a rainbow stick covered in purple sugar. "This is a piece of candy from my home planet, I know it looks a little strange, but it actually is quite delicious." She held it out to her feline friend so she could take it.

Etoile nodded hastily, violet curls bouncing around frantically, his eyes wide with awe. "I promise I'll keep it a secret, I promise!"
He watched as Dengeki pulled Unagi over toward him, and beamed shyly at the greeting. But he said nothing, excited to see the demonstration, his glowing fingertips curling around the edge of the seat as he tried to focus enough to keep it afloat. If he lost his focus, it would topple downward, taking the small alien with it.
But as he watched the demonstration given by the twins, his smile vanish, and a small, terrified shriek ripped through his throat as he leaned over the edge of the seat, clasping it as though he might fall over himself. "Is he okay?!" the small alien cried, his eyes wide with fear for his newest friend.
For a moment, he was indignant at Unagi for laughing at his brother's fate, but then it began to dawn on him. His nose wrinkled when Dengeki sat up and Etoile realized that he had been duped. But their laughter was contagious, and Etoile couldn't stay put out with such a charismatic pair. Despite himself, he began to laugh with them, his own chuckles still shaking at first, but then giving way to fuller, happier laughter.
"You two are funny," he chirped, letting Unagi's tail slide over his cheek. "I wish I had a brother. I bet you guys work really well together."
His eyes strayed over to the group nearby, which had grown slightly to involve more people. He caught a glimpse of Nalo's paper before she put it away, reading the alien letters. That must have been what she'd done to him! He would ask her later, in his native tongue, to confirm it. But that could wait. He was busy making new friends.
His gaze returned to the twins, who he looked at admiringly. So confident, hilarious, and calm. They would be great teammates, and even better friends. "I'm going to like having you two on our team," he said aloud, thingying his head to the side as he smiled happily.
In all of his distractions, given the initial horror, the discovery of Nalo's ability, and his pleasure at having made two new friends, Etoile forgot to keep a grip on his chair, and it went crashing to the floor, sending him rolling a few feet. He sat up dizzily, one hand tangled in his thick hair as he clutched his head, and began to laugh again, exasperated by his own failure. "Whoops!"

(M'kay...)
Milo-Lee looked at Niji with a mix of wonder and a admiration, she had been totally wrong about her. She was very sweet. She smile a bit as she talked to her, she was just overwelmed by all this. The world she had know was so small, and they're were so many people here, she'd rarely talked to someone outside of her family. When Niji pulled out the lollipop, blue and orange, and looking so pretty, she almost started to cry again. She relized she had never, ever been given a gift before, not like this. She felt a huge smile spred across her face as she grabbed the multi-colored stick and took a tenetive lick. Wow. She couldn't stop herself from hugging Niji and laughing a little, "Thank you," was all she could say.
Finnick smiled to see Milo-Lee happy again. He knew adjusting was hard, but she seemed to be having a harded time than most. He could also tell that she wasn't used to talking to people, he couldn't begin to guess why. He did hope her mood swings were over too. He wasn't sure if he could handle that...

"I wish I had a brother. I bet you guys work really well together."
The twins exchanged glances at this statement. Again challenging the concept of twin telepathy, they replied simultaneously. "We can adopt you as our little brother!" They grinned excitedly. Unagi reached out and ruffled Etoile's curly hair. For a split second, one purple eye was visible as he moved his head. If one were to be paying close attention, he would notice that his expression was soft and sincere. "You're so cute."
Dengeki's eyes scanned the room and searched for more aliens he knew. Finally, his eyes rested upon the small green alien who he knew all too well. Part of him wondered why she hadn't come up to him, throw an insult and then proceed to climb onto his head like she usually did. "Yn-!" He started to call her, but his voice was cut short, startled by the chair that came crashing down not three feet away from him.
He dropped to the floor to check to see if Etoile was okay. After a minute or so, he realized that Etoile was actually laughing and not crying out in pain. Picking Etoile up under the arms, Dengeki stood and gave him a solemn look. "Be careful kid, I don't want you to hurt yourself!" He put Etoile safely on the ground and smiled. "That was quite a fall"

Smiling back peacefully, Nebulos was about to answer back, if it hadn't been for Milo-Lee, who suddenly popped up behind them. Slightly startled, he turned his head around, but smiled once more once he saw who it was.
"Ah, Milo-Lee."
He said, lifting one hand to wave at her.
"Yes, Nalo is quite amazing! She can..."
The boy's voice trailed off when he had turned his gaze back upon said operative. Other than smiling, like she'd done before, Nalo's expression had turned a little wary. This surprised Nebulos for a second, who hadn't noticed the sudden change in emotion until now. Milo-Lee, too, seemed to realize that something was wrong. The Luminarian boy grew a little apprehensive, his antennea dimming slightly as his mouth dropped into a small 'o', his expression unsure. He felt a certain tensed vibe lingering, which he was prone to pick up. But then, rather unexepctedly, Milo-Lee's demeanour changed completely, right after reading Nalo's note. Bemused, Nebulos saw how the fur beneath her eyes suddenly grew moist, a sign -he guessed- that she was in fact crying. His eyes widened a little and he felt a tinge in his stomach when he observed the teary-eyed girl. His eyebrows slanted down, his expression sad, which he did spontaneously whenever he saw grief. Although he hadn't expected this reaction -and neither had Nalo, by the looks of it- he felt sympathetic towards the feline girl. He didn't like to see people cry, and was all too ready to resolve it if he could.
"Yeah, that's right!"
He added, once Niji had made an attempt to comfort the girl. His antennea brightened a bit when he saw his rainbow friend's attempts seemed to be succeeding, and offering Milo-Lee a lollipop along with it.
"Those are real nice. Princess Niji's candy always makes you feel better."
He nodded vigorously, a smile curving onto his face once again. He seemed to be saying this in all earnesty, like Niji's Origamian candy was indeed the solution to most of life's problems. Nebulos smiled contentedly when Milo-Lee gratefully accepted the lollipop, and it only widened when Finnick decided to join in on the conversation and offered the cat-girl a friendly gesture. Happy that things seemed to work out, the small boy turned to face Nalo once again, who had, too, seemed a bit confused by the recent developments. He wondered if she was alright, but didn't have a lot of time to phrase the question when distraction came in the sound of a thud. Surprised, Nebulos turned his head, seeing the yellow alien named Etoile lying face-down on the floor. Slightly confused, he tilted his head, observing how the smaller alien was quick to get up again and laugh heartedly at his accident. Despite not knowing the alien yet, Nebulos uttered a soft chuckle as well. He seemed to be a rather joyful figure, much like himself. He was rather keen to get the mission started, so he would have the chance to get to know his fellow teammates better.
