"I'm good, you guys go ahead....I'll just go check the electricity room...."
Niji watched as Jazlyn and her friend left for the electricity room, hoping that they'd find the problem, and fix it soon. Though the multicolored Princess did find it strange that a base like this didn't have a back up generator for these sort of situations, and if they did in fact have one, why didn't it turn on? For now, Niji put these questions at the back of her mind, and turned her attention to the game that was about to commence. She liked Telarian Speed, it was one of her favorite foregin games, because it required intense quick reflexes something, that she prided herself on having.
. "Bring it on, Glowstick, bring it on. I hope you don't mind those being your last words, because we're going to bury you." Tala vowed with fierce determination.
Niji smiled lightly at the younger green-haired girl, like her she also had a determined streak, however, Tala was one of the most competitive girls she knew, and sometimes, a contest or a game usually ended, in hurt feelings, tears, apologies and several demands for a do-over. She sighed, hopefully things won't get as ugly as did when they played Galactic Battleship. She'd admit, it was an interesting incident, but not something the colorful Princess would've liked to relive. She looked at Masurao in the darkness,
"Why don't you volunteer to play?" She suggested, flashing her colorful beam at him. "Who knows you may be good at the game." She nudged him lightly.

"I want to watch!"
Nebulos' bright, cheery voice couldn't help but reach the ears of the siblings, and Tala turned around, smiling delightedly through the dark at her small friend. "Oh, this is going to be so fun!" she exclaimed excitedly, clutching her deck of cards tightly. She held up her other arm for Nebulos to climb on en route to her head, if he wished to ride along with her to the Table of Certain Death (the name that Etoile had affectionately given the table where their most competitive card games were held).
She tossed the cards to Etoile, who crossed over to the table and knelt down beside it, looking up at the others curiously. "So that's two-on-two, does anyone else want to play?"
Meanwhile, Tala had heard Niji's suggestion and rather liked it. Mostly because it gave her an opportunity to poke a bit at Masurao. "Masurao does!" She gave a wide, pleading grin at the bodyguard, laughing in the inner caves of her throat. "Yeah, Niji's right! Come on, come play with us! You'd be good at this game, I bet."

Nebulos already jumped off Jazlyn's head I'm afraid X3; But I'll try to fix it!
- - - - -
"Aw, come on, Jazlyn, don't leave!" Nebulos called after the girl while he used his six limbs to climb atop Tala's inviting arm. "The game is about to start, it's much more fun if we're all together!" A merry laugh followed this exclamation, along with a joyous antennae-flicker. Feeling more reassured by the others' confirmations that there weren't any intruders around, Nebulos had decided to look at the bright side of the event and thought that being in the dark, amongst friends of which a few could shed light themselves, would be rather cosy. Much like the slumber parties they had had as kids. "Besides, I'm sure they've already sent a few technicians to check it out." he added with another chuckle, before settling down upon Tala's head, his hands gripping her hair gently to balance himself out. The small teen brightened his antennae a bit more, casting a gentle light across the floor where the game was about to take place. It was rather convenient.
"Why don't you volunteer to play? Who knows you may be good at the game."
An elbow poked him in the side and Masurao looked over when being addressed, straight into the colourful orb Niji was creating, which made his eyes squint a little. The mulitcoloured light danced in his pools of green, making them stand out even more than they usually did. The guard didn't respond immediately, but glanced down at the players instead. Perhaps he didn't want to intrude when teams had already been formed, seeing how it would've been rather rude to do so. He closed his eyes serenely and tilted his head to the side a bit, slowly opening his mouth to say something, but someone was ahead of him.
"Masurao does!"
The quiet wolf opened his eyes again, turning his head and looking straight into Tala's face, who was beaming up at him. "Yeah, Niji's right! Come on, come play with us! You'd be good at this game, I bet." Two eyebrows lifted, making the teenage boy look a bit startled. Again, he didn't reply immediately, but averted his gaze to the right instead, looking considerate. Perhaps he hadn't expected this sudden compliment and was contemplating over it, as if there was some merit to that idea. After a few moments, the taciturn boy closed his eyes again and spoke quietly. "Alright. If no one else minds." Masurao opened his eyes again and they seemed to glint brightly, seeming eager at the idea of a challenge he had not yet encountered. His tail flicked to the side. "But I'm afraid I don't know how it's played."

"So that's two-on-two, does anyone else want to play?"
Dengeki walked over to Tala and knelt beside her. “We were on a team, right, Swirly?” He smiled, flashing his sharp teeth at her. “Unless you want to be on Susu’s team; then I’ll just have to make due with Etoile.” He looked over at Etoile and gave a quick wave, despite the fact that they were at a close distance.
"But I'm afraid I don't know how it's played."
Upon hearing Masurao’s words, Dengeki turned to him and spoke smiling even more. “Oh come on, I barely know how to play and I’m like awesome at it!!! Well, actually, I’m just good at throwing cards down, but still! It’s not that complicated” He made an attempt to reassure the wolf-boy.

"Heck yeah, we're on a team!" Tala crowed, locking one of her arms with Dengeki's and her other arm in Masurao's, although the wolf-boy would no doubt take his arm away immediately. "We'll play it 3-on-3! Milo-Lee and Etoile, you guys are going to have to find another partner!"
Etoile lifted his eyebrows at her matter-of-factly. "We'll find one, don't you worry. Just explain to Masurao how to play."
"Right!" Tala knelt down beside the table, pulling Masurao and Dengeki with her while still keeping Nebulos balanced on her head. "So Etoile is going to divide the decks between us and we're all going to lay out cards at the same time, one by one. And when you see two cards that are put down that are matches, like two moon cards or two sun cards, then you quickly flip out your own cards and cover them up. And those cards that you put down will make new matches, and you cover them up, too, with new cards. And when you're out of cards, you sit back and wait for your partners to run out of cards, and when all three of us are out of cards, the round is over and we all pick up the cards that are in front of us. We win when all three of us have under fifteen cards."
Etoile nodded, shuffling the cards with ease. "So try to put down cards on your opponent's side first, because they'll pick up the cards in front of them, and you want to give them more cards to pick up."
"A good strategy is to start flipping down cards as fast as you can see matches and try to psych out the other players." Tala grinned, having had much experience in this little technique.
Meanwhile, Etoile stood up and looked around, trying to spot potential players. "We need another person," he called, looking around. "Anyone want to join the team?"

"Make a blanket fort..." Vibe echoed her boyfriend's thoughts, which may have made him realise how silly the suggestion was, since he hastily added "But if you don't want to, you don't have to." Glancing around the room, a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "Well I don't know about you," she started, pausing for dramatic effect just as he had done, "... but I see no reason not to make the fort down here. I-- Cyril get off my head," she snapped, when she noticed the jangling of her jewellery was still atop her skull. "But the dark is scaryyy!!" he informed her, letting out a small, shrill cry and hugging her head. "Go play with your boyfriend or something, and put my jewellery back!!"
On the other side of the room, Nalo had observed the various aliens forming teams for a few matches of Telarian Speed to pass the time, and since this was a game she was rather accustomed to and she thoroughly enjoyed playing it, as soon as an oppurtunity arose to insert herself into the game plan, she darted forward and tapped Etoile's shoulder, smiling hopefully at him through the darkness in the hope of transmitting her message. Her notebook was left, forgotten in her room, so if she wanted to communicate from now she was going to have to locate some writing implements in the room at some point.

Ynda simply watched from Dengeki's head while the players were divided into teams. She felt no interest to join the game, in spite of the rules having been explained, and preferred to stay in the comfy hair to watch instead.
However, she did feel like making her presence known and sat up for a moment. "Kick his ass," she told Etoile, pointing a finger down at her seat at the same time. She made sure to use a strict tone, but left her facial expression slightly playful to assure him that she meant no harm.

Etoile was still casting his baby-blues about the room, trying to locate a potential partner, when a pair of bright golden eyes popped up beside him with a light tap on his shoulder. Only one alien that he knew of had such expressive eyes that glittered so brilliantly in the dim like that their friends provided. Her smile was beseeching, and Etoile nodded excitedly.
"Yeah, of course you can play!" He was good at knowing what she wanted now, especially when she was able to make it so clear. "With your help, we'll beat them for sure!"
He danced over to the table and knelt down on one side in the middle, shuffling the cards between his hands and grinning at Tala, who lifted a challenging eyebrow at him while he began to deal out the cards to everyone, counting silently to himself and trying to keep track of them while he heard Ynda's voice address him.
A laugh tickled the flesh of his throat, and he nodded, flashing a glance up at her. "Can do!" Instinctively, he increased his output of energy so that he glowed a little bit brighter, and then he finished his counting, sitting back and picking up the deck in front of him. His smile began toying as he grinned around, straightening his own pile of cards. "Are you guys ready?"

(I think no. Sorry to be blunt, PlyJulia, but we want to focus on character relationships, and action and drama can really ruin that. Ellie made this roleplay in the first place because the other roleplay had too much action for her liking, and a smashed up generator and kidnapped Epsylux sounds like a much bigger deal than we were thinking about. I can't really speak for everyone else; that's just what I think.)

[[Mmm, I have to agree. It's just that we wanted this roleplay to be less action-y and more focused on character relationships with each other. Drama isn't bad, persay, but I think we're looking for between-characters drama more than dark-figure-in-the-engine-room drama. Otherwise we're just having a good time and getting to know each other.
I don't know. Just my thoughts.]]

That was the initial idea of the RP, so I suppose we'd stick to it, right? ^^

“Oh come on, I barely know how to play and I’m like awesome at it!!!"
Hearing the ecstatic expletive, Masurao glanced to the side where he saw Dengeki flash a row of purple teeth at him. "Well, actually, I’m just good at throwing cards down, but still! It’s not that complicated.” The composed teenager looked over at the cards in Etoile's hand, which he shuffled with apparent ease. An eyebrow was lifted, though not mockingly, but rather pensive, as if he was taking Dengeki's words into consideration. Judging from his explanation, the game sounded very simple, which Masurao doubted a bit. He tilted his head slightly, turning his head back to Unagi's brother, intending to speak, but right then and arm lashed out and had taken hold of his.
"Heck yeah, we're on a team!" Tala called out to her brother, "We'll play it 3-on-3! Milo-Lee and Etoile, you guys are going to have to find another partner!"
Intending to pull his arm away, Masurao had little time to do so, because right then we was pulled down onto the carpeted floor. He used his other arm to balance himself when the trio thudded softly upon the ground, his eye twitching slightly. Very composedly, yet swift, he pulled his arm out of Tala's hold and crossed it over his other, tilting his head to the other side and closing his eyes, deciding not to remark. How one little girl could be so persuasive, he had no idea. His slender tail flicked to the side demurely and Masurao twitched his mane, choosing to temporarily observe by hearing rather than sight. Nebulos chuckled, having had to stabilize himself by gripping Tala's antennae when they crashed down on the floor. "Let the games commence!" he said, rubbing one set of hands together eagerly.
"A good strategy is to start flipping down cards as fast as you can see matches and try to psych out the other players." Tala said, after having explained the game itself. Eyes still closed and his composure ever tranquil, Masurao wagged his tail once more and thought about the information. He assumed he understood the basic idea and purpose of the game, and was rather interested to see the execution of it. As far as speed was concerned, the current players were all quite worthy opponents.
"Are you guys ready?"
Upon hearing Etoile's voice, Masurao opened his eyes and looked up. He didn't say anything, but a nod signaled that he was prepared. As far as one could be for a game he had never before played.
"Then let the card be distributed!" Nebulos exclaimed with an enthusiastic laugh, his antennae brightening to illuminate the table where the players sat.

Quickly, like a gambler in Vegas that was quite used to dealing out cards, Etoile began to distribute the deck. The cards slid across the table, settling into six decks in front of each player. Tala began to straighten hers immediately, calmly, her smile at Etoile both innocent and mocking at the same time. Between the two, there was a silent competition brewing, but this was a normal occurrence anyway.
When Etoile had finished dealing out the cards, he scooped up his deck, straightening it into his palm and leaning closer to the table while his eyes danced in the dim like, like fire across thick ice. "Are we ready?"
"We are, I don't know about your team," Tala replied flippantly, grinning. She, too, leaned over the table, as though they were marking their territory and daring each other to cross it.
"Let's go." A smile of pure innocence, marked by a wall of yellow teeth, and in synchronization, Etoile and Tala both set their first cards down at the same time, signaling to the others to do so and beginning the game with a fire of good-natured competitiveness already brewing.

(Again, I hope you don't mind if I jump in ^^|)
"Hmm...now if I was a flaona, where would I be?"
Lunira was under her bed as she began rummaging through all and what was left under there. She hadn't meant to stay in her room all morning since she had set her alarm, but of course when the power went out, so did her clock's life. She had woken up late, and a little alarmed by the darkness all around her, but found out about the black out.
After she had washed up and changed clothes...which she had to do about three times since she had accidentily gotten the wrong pair of socks, Lunira was now looking for her flashlight..well, her flaona to be exact.
She crawled out, now knowing the object she seeked wasn't under there. Lunira sighed and stretched a little, before walking around again in the darkness. It didn't take but a few steps when she tripped over something...
"Oof!"
...something that was long and had little leaves on it's edges.
She turned around, feeling her hands on the floor to figure out what it was she tripped over and her eyes had lit up once her hands grasped it. "Finally!" Lunira played with on tip of it, twirling the leaves a few seconds until the whole stick glowed.
She smiled at her discovery, then frowned noting how messy her room looked in the dim green light. "I'd better clean up soon once the power's back on. I wonder how the others are coping." She added in a murmer.
-----
"Hello-ooo? Anyone there?" Lunira waved her little glow-plant a bit, trying to see if anyone was coming. Then again, she might've heard them before they appeared in the light's view. Suddenly, she heard voices just around the bend.
"Are we ready?"
"We are, I don't know about your team."
Her ears twitched a little as she walked forward, as if they were trying to guess who it was that made the voices. "That sounds an awful like...Tala and Etoile?"

The lights flashed out in the small electronic workroom as green hands and yellow claws were in the midst of writing the most important essay they'd ever encounter.
Forgetting to save has always been a big problem in the agenda of most alien species and this too followed suit with Chaosky. Now left in a pitch black room only lit by the glowing of his green eyes, the small alien began to stand up and stare down at his computer. His nerves began to get the best of him as he started for what he thought was the door (but in fact was a wall) to leave the room.
Standing at the wall and reaching toward the doorknob that wasn't there the creature freaked, thinking he was somehow in some mysterious vortex. Now freaking out even more he started to panic, screaming just a bit. (as most of them are now teens he is one of the younger ones and now only 12-13)
Eventually feeling for the door the two green eyes moved carefully down the corridor. The cracks and noises of the now offline space station made Chaosky nervous as he headed toward a newly found glowing light in the hallway. (Lunira)
Moving forward he saw it wasn't attached to anything he could see and reached for it, thinking it was just a particle of sorts. Grabbing onto it he started to pull the glow-plant closer to him, pulling on it fron Lunira.
