*just a little something to boost* Time sure flies when you're getting to know someone. Or at least when you're at least trying to get to know someone. It had been a solid 2 hours since first got acquainted with her silent bodyguard. She was still having a hard time adjusting to the fact that she did in fact have a bodyguard. Of course, the transition would have probably been a lot smoother if the boy...Talked. "So..." She drawled awkwardly, looking at Masurao. "So, did you have any friends back at the academy? You must miss..." Niji let the sentence hang when something outside the window caught her eyes, she squinted and moved closer to the window to get a better view. "Hey, I think we've finally reached our destination!!" She called, and tilted her head, "Err, right?" She at least hoped they did. ------------------ I'm not too good at describing things, so would anyone else care to describe the new headquarters. Sadie maybe? (OMG!! That rhymed!! Sadie Maybe! Sadie Maybe! lol) ^^

I-I'll give it my best shot!
--
There was a small figure that was draped across a chair, with her eyes closed and her tail swinging lazily back and forth. About an hour ago, she had decided that all of the excitement was good but that she was in desperate need of a little nap to keep her recharged. So she had found the biggest seat and curled up inside it, making herself comfortable and relaxing.
But when she heard Niji say something, she was awake in a flash. "Hey, I think we've finally reached our destination!!" She prayed that Niji was right, slipping down from her seat and bounding across the floor to peek out the window. The window was tall and she had to stretch upward on her toes to see out of it, but she didn't really mind.
"Yeah, we're here! Let's go kick some enemy b-"
Her words died in her throat when she caught sight of the headquarters.
Concernedly, Etoile joined her at the window, probably trying to discern what had eaten her vigor so quickly. He had been reclined in a chair and chatting with a few other operatives when he had heard Niji's cry, and when he had watched his sister go silent, he knew that whatever it was, it was impressive. And it was.
The planet itself was not large by any means. D'thlany was larger, and even D'thlany seemed like a small planet compared to most. Etoile's hand found its way to Tala's shoulder, and he squeezed it reassuringly as they both looked out at the small, dark planet.
It was covered with a thick mass of clouds that were generating a storm filled with dark rain and flashes of searing lightning. If the planet itself wasn't intimidating enough, it didn't help that the headquarters, standing hugely off of the surface, seemed like a haunted mansion or a place where death would no doubt be imminent.
Towering, huge, it shot upward into the sky, with pillars that cut sharp edges through the air. The windows were sealed off with iron and the walls were painted black, closing off any light from entering from the outside. Etoile felt a shiver run down his spine when he realized how dark it would be inside. And it must have held hundreds of rooms with the sheer size of it, looming far above the surface of the planet and guarded by an iron gate around it.
Red-tipped fingers squeezed his sister's shoulder slightly, trying to reassure the girl when he wasn't even able to reassure himself. He wasn't able to tear his eyes away from the sight - the large black towers that spiraled upward, the thick iron doors that were cut into the walls at the very bottom, the raging storm that seemed to slice through the planet itself. No wonder they needed a special team of operatives.
"We can. . . h-handle it."
The little girl beside him was trying so hard to be brave, but Etoile could hear the fear that was thick in his sister's voice. She was terrified, looking at the large, threatening planet, and they all no doubt felt the same.
Etoile knew that if they landed on the planet feeling scared. . . they were sure to mess up. A lot. He couldn't let that happen, not to his new friends. He had to try to keep them calm, even when he didn't even feel calm himself. He felt small, weak, and insignificant.
"Yeah, we can." His hoarse voice didn't have much of an effect, so he cleared it quickly and tried again. "We were assembled to be able to handle this. They wouldn't have sent us out here if they thought we couldn't do it. We have to, or other planets are in danger of being swallowed entirely. Whole planets! They're counting on us, and we can do it!"
Looking back out at the planet, though, he couldn't help but doubt even his own words. He didn't feel like an operative - he felt like a coward.

I hope that was alright, you guys. D: I tried!

Noticing the operatives slowly assembling by the window, Nalo was quick to join them, and even her breath caught in her usually silent throat when she saw the headquarters. The girl found it hard to believe that a building could look so... intimidating, so uninviting. Sure, darkness was nothing to her, but it wasn't the absence of light on the planet which was bothering her. It was the fact that she felt like the darkness was a living being, glaring and growling back at her, daring her and her teammates to come closer and succumb to its dangerous shroud. She couldn't hold back a shudder, fear trickling in shivers down her spine, and an unintentional silver tendril snaked out from her back, latching onto her arm and twining around it, as if trying to cocoon her and shield her from the danger; something of a reflex of her species.
Vibe had emerged from the engine room with Cyril and taken a sweeping glance at the headquarters, before diverting her gaze and covering Cyril's eyes before either of them could cause a fuss. Her line of vision flashed towards the steering cabin, where she noticed a large red button for communications. Memories of the White Lady's words flared in her mind.
"The red button will call us..."
Not really thinking, she advanced into the cabin, her gaze wandering onto many of the other communicational buttons and levers on the control board. From atop her head, Cyril's wings clawed at her hair as he squawked something inaudible.
"...but you won’t be able to use it once you’re nearing the headquarters..."
It was worth a shot, surely? The radio systems for communication were no less than top-notch, there could still be a signal...
"...because the distance is too far..."
Pressing the button with one of her large digits, the dreadful buzzing sound of static rushed to meet her ears, meaning the communication system was working but the software wasn't picking up a signal. Amongst his shrill cries, Vibe managed to pick out "we're all gonna diiiie!" from Cyril's frightened rambling.
"...You’ll have to rely on yourselves."
The message drilled harder into her head than before, Vibe shot a concerned look out through the window and towards the dark planet. Surely whatever was lurking inside that building couldn't be any worse than what they had already faced in the past? They were fully trained operatives, prepared for anything. But it was all just wishful thinking; how was she supposed to convince herself - or anyone else - that everything was going to wind up okay, when they were facing something so... dangerous?

Whoa, epic stuff! X3 Nice one! ^^
- - - - -
"So... So, did you have any friends back at the academy? You must miss..."
Masurao had been leaning against the wall as time passed on, eyes closes and arms crossed, and overall looking rather tranquil. It seemed he need to do no more than occasionally flick his tail to the left or right to keep himself entertained for a full two hours. In the meanwhile, the princess had been asking him questions about himself or his life on Egriada, which he tried to answer to the best of his abilities, which meant he hardly disclosed anything at all. It wasn't until Niji's speech faltered that the guard opened his eyes and glanced to the side. There he found the rainbow girl, who was staring out of the window, looking bemused. An eyebrow was lifted and he turned his head, uncrossing his arms. "Princess?" he enquired, making a swift and calculated step in her direction.
"Hey, I think we've finally reached our destination!! ...Err, right?"
This made the wolfboy take another step, until he was at her side and stared outside the window, as well. His green eyes widened at the sight they beheld. Niji's exclamation had roused several other aliens who made their way over to the window. Tala was the first to bound over, her demeanour very enthusiastic, which changed as soon as she had spotted their destination upon taking a peek through the window. Her brother was soon at her side and his reaction was no different, as he gripped her shoulders with his glowing red hands. Masurao's initial shock had slowly subsided and he was now looking at the ominous planet in front of them. His expression was stern -much sterner than before- and his eyes had narrowed slightly, their greenness glinting suspiciously. "Hahn nee'yah..." he muttered softly, eyes narrowing a bit more. This certainly was a sight he had never beheld before and as far as he was concerned, he was glad he hadn't. The planet itself, though small, seemed to ooze hostility, daring unwanted visitors to come closer so it could engulf them in its dark clouds and swallow them whole. It was unsettling, to say the least.
Then Nalo was there, with Nebulos in her wake. "What's going on?" the little creature said while jogging over, his height disallowing him to see through the window very clearly. He looked a little apprehensive, which wasn't an unusual thing to do, seeing how the other aliens staring through the window looked quite anxious themselves. He looked up and Nalo and saw that she had taken a similar expression. Whatever was out there, it didn't look nice. Nebulos started to wonder if he even wanted to see. But his curiosity got the better of him and he clambered up Nalo's shoulder, hoping she wouldn't mind he did so. Once there, he turned to look outside and what he saw there made him gasp loudly. His antennae brightened in alarm and his eyes widened. He moved his mouth about, apparently intending to say something, but no words came out.
This odd planet's unfriendly atmosphere seemed to chill him to the bone, an unusual thing for someone who consisted partly out of light. The bolts atop his head dimmed slightly, being quite intimidated by the odd phenomenon. Subconsciously, one of his tiny hands reached out to take a strand of Nalo's hair, as if he was seeking some reassurance that his friends were all still there.

When she felt something scaling her body, Nalo jerked in surprise, but when she realised it was only Nebulos she calmed immediately, hesitantly returning her gaze to the sight outside the window. Hearing his equally frightened reaction to the headquarters, and feeling his grip on a strand of her hair, Nalo absentmindedly looped a small, thin tendril around the boy's arm in a subconscious attempt to reassure him. Glancing around at the others and their worried reactions, Nalo let out a silent sigh, wishing they could all just pull themselves together for a few moments; a couple of seconds of confidence would go a long way, but it was much easier said that done.

The little boy's antennae brightened a bit as he suddenly felt something crawl upon his arm. Startled, he looked down at it, only to find out it was one of Nalo's tendrils, which curled around his arm as a reassuring gesture. Looking back outside the window, his tiny fist folded around the end of the metal limb and squeezed it a bit, trying to send out some reassurance himself. It would be alright. As long as the lot of them were together, it would be alright.

It's been awhile since I've been at home, but...I'm glad I'm going back to the base...
A small alien sat next to a window--well, actually on the window's counter since she was tiny enough to sit right on it. She was looking at all of the stars that whizzed by the space-craft she was in, as she made way to her destination. As if in some sort of anxiety habit, she tugged a little on the ribbons around her ears.
"I wonder if the others are still there." She thought about what she said for a moment and then shook her head. "Nah, of course! It's the GKND base, after all."
"Now Landing into the GALATIC base."[/i]
The small alien stood up once the metalic voice spoke, picking up her small bag of things while doing so. "Well...here I am." She looked over the edge and her green eyes widened. "Oh...I forgot how high the window was."
Taking a deep breath, she threw her small bag over the edge, then ran. After landing right onto the bag, unfortunately also landing on something very hard that was near the top, the space-craft's door opened.
A tall figure stood in the doorway. Well, actually, all figures were tall in comparison to her, but he seemed to be of the average human child-height. "Ah, Numbuh L-90..nice to see you again."
'L-90' quickly got to her feet and saluted the boy. "Nice to see you too, Numbuh Inifinity!"
-------
After she had taken her things back to her room, Numbuh L-90, or Lunira, was sitting on Numbuh Infinity's shoulders. Her small bear ears kept brushing against his cheek as she kept turning her head this way and that.
"Where are the others? Aren't they here?"
"Settle down, Lunira. Actually, you've just missed them. They went on a mission, I think...with a few new operatives."
"New operatives?"
"Yes...Dear, you have been gone for awhile, haven't you?"
Lunira turned her head back to Infinity, now a little embarrassed. Again, she tugged on her green ribbons in her own little manner. "Well...I had to go home...it was the holidays and all," she grinned sheepishly.
"That's reasonable," Infinity nodded. "Though, I think you'll have to tell them about your trip when you meet up with them. I'm sure Nebulos would be pleased." At the mention of her friend's name, Lunira had stopped messing with her ribbons and blinked.
"Nebulos." She whispered to herself. "But I don't think I can wait that long, how long will their mission take?" Lunira playfully whined.
A small grin appeared on Infinity's face, making the small panda-bear-esque alien raise an eyebrow.
"Oh, I don't think it'll be long...depending on how fast your craft will take you there." Lunira's eyes widened as the fellow operative nodded. "Though, I suppose it's a little too early for you to be leaving on a mission--"
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" Lunira's words were all mushed together as she face-glomped the boy, almost making him stagger a little by the surprise hug. He chuckled a little and held her in his hands.
"Don't mention it. Now, here's your communicator and report to the docks as quick as you can." Then, he set the little alien down and in an instant, Lunira was down the hall, dodging feet as she ran with glee.
"Lunira's back!"
----
Lol, it was all I could think of..I hope it was good.

A pair of soft, vulnerable blue eyes scoped the room as Etoile silently noted that many of their reactions were the same. The towering building was terrible in its effect, striking them deeply where their fear was buried and shattering them. What could they, a bunch of children, do? What could they possibly possess that would be able to stop such an impending threat.
A warm, trickling voice dripped suddenly from the innards of his mind.
Be calm, my friends. A team bonded and prepared can face any challenge given to them.
The voice, albeit weak, of the White Lady.
Etoile glanced at Tala and noticed that she had heard it, too, from the way that she stiffened slightly. No doubt it had been swept into everyone's minds - a last message to give them hope before facing something that none of them wanted to face.
Tala was on one side of Etoile, her face still turned toward the building in its alluring dominion over their awe. On his other side, Nalo and Nebulos were quietly interacting.
Faces, expressions, all etched with despair.
Hesitantly, slowly, Etoile reached out his free hand and loosely wrapped it around Nalo's. A small gesture of great value - silent reassurance. To Nalo, to Nebulos, to Niji, to Masurao, he sent a brave smile. One that was marred with fear, defiled with terror, but a smile that signified that inside the small alien, bravery was still battling.
"We've survived asteroids," he whispered, his eyes flooded with contrasting warmth and horror. "We can handle this."

Yay, Luni's coming! ^o^ Best make her arrive soon, Paula! So she can join the team on the mission! X3
- - - - -
Be calm, my friends. A team bonded and prepared can face any challenge given to them.
A set of eyebrows lifted and his head snapped to the side, seeking a person he could not find. Masurao's green gaze wandered around the room professionally and it caught both of the Telarians' faces. Judging from the looks they held, it seemed they had heard the voice, too. It sounded strangely familiar, like it was someone who he'd met before, though only briefly. But, against all odds, it sounded rather reassuring. Which meant something for a person like Masurao, who wasn't reassured until he'd seen proof of it with his own two eyes.
Nebulos, too, had widened his eyes and flickered his antennae when the White Lady's voice came trailing inside his head. He looked over his shoulder for a second, only to realize she wasn't there, and that her voice called inside from his inner self instead. Subconsciously, his grip tightened around Nalo's hair and he looked out in front of him again, at the looming building atop the small planet, letting his eyes wander across it. His expression wasn't very readable, but his eyes glinted with certain thoughtfulness. "She's right..." he whispered almost inaudibly, except for Nalo perhaps, and slipping into his mother tongue without realizing it.
"We've survived asteroids... We can handle this."
Masurao, having turned back to the ominous building outside, cast a sideway glance at the smaller boy. He saw him make an effort to let the corners of his mouth curl up in order to smile up at them all, doing his part to reassure the team, even if there was some disguised terror in his voice. Masurao certainly didn't blame him. In his concealed inner mind, he had to compliment the boy for his positive attitude. The towering construction outside was enough to frighten any kid, no matter how old. All the same, the Egriadanian appreciated Etoile's gesture. But his outer presence remained, as ever, stoic. What he did do, was nod. One, slow, deep nod to show that he understood what the red-haired youth had said, and that he silently agreed. Despite the horrific appearance of the strange shaped infrastructure outside the window, Masurao knew one could never judge by appearance alone. The outer shield was the thing that had to look most impressive, to scare off anyone who wasn't supposed to be there. He was all too familiar with that technique.

Uhn, I hope the posts'll be alright T^T I've come up with a cold a few hours ago and I'm so tired and heavy-headed and stuffed-nosed XD; I hope it'll pass soon, but I wanted to post anyway X3 That's why I'm not online either, in case anyone was wondering, the computer kind of tires me out too :C I best tuck in soon! (Aww, I hope you feel better, Jas. Drink lots of fluids and eat some soup, okay? ----------------------------------- As the vehicle made it's way across the stars, Lunira found herself in the front seat, fumbling with a map. Her face was all scrunched up as she tried to read it, trying to make sure she was going in the right direction. Oddly enough, she never had the chance to actually fly anything in the GKND...it never came up in training. However, here she was..all alone...in a space-craft by herself with using the flying-skills of what she learned from watching (and playing) a video game. Then again, it might've helped that Infinity had already set in the coordinates into the hard-drvie along with putting the ship on auto-pilot. If it weren't for that, Lunira might've had a paniac-attack by then. Her feelings were far from panic since she was still excited about reuniting with her friends again, but there was also confusion underneath. Where was she going exactly? Who were the new operatives? And...why was there a pizza stain on the other side of the map? Lunira shrugged at the last question, figuring that maybe it had fell into something. A little weird since the map's other side was almost covered in pizza sauce while the front was clean, but who knew? The ship's sensors began to beep as Lunira was twisting the map around for the fourth time. She set it down and looked at the monitor. She was almost there...the planet was up ahead but...it looked sort of.. "Empty." Her ears slightly sagged a little at the ship made it's way into the atmosphere. Everything seemed to be covered in some sort of haze, almost like a looming fog and it made her feel a little...well, lonely. She hugged herself to reassure herself that she was still there..that this wasn't all just some creep nightmare. It wasn't, and the large building that came into view didn't set her nerves any better either. She was so mesmerized by it's large structure that she didn't even notice her ship landing on the ground. Not even the larger ship that was a few yards ahead.
